Yeah that's one way to cover it. That stuff is very hard to remove. I saw that they use an industrial sander with a vacuum attached typically. It must still take forever though.

My buddy has one of those for his handyman business. I told my wife if she wanted to do the rest we were going to hire him. She had good intentions, but I knew it wasn't going to go as easily as she thought it looked on YouTube. I didn't want to tell her no though.
I don't know what they are doing on those shows and videos where they just spray it with water and scrape it off with a metal spatula. It does not work that way at all. I don't what they are doing to make it look simple like that
