The Extra-Normals: An Unexpected End II

It was not Akita responsible for the killings, it was Aila, a council leader among my clan. A Judas, plotting to become the next matriarch of our clan.

Then I felt a sharp, impatient tap on the door of my mind... I did not recognize the telepathic signature. It must be new and certainly not my cousin's, Akita. It was Aila!

So she had a mind-controlling ability as well unknown to even our matriarch, Inahan Elena. She must be the first of us with three abilities.

How could she have forgotten so quickly, as my teacher? I have the optimal power of telekinesis unlike no other in my race, liquid metals in their purest form flowed through my veins. Nothing could reach me nor penetrate my mind unless I let it in. This was one of the reasons Elena cared and protected me more. She saw me as an unharnessed weapon in the wrong hands. I could put a stop to all this mess.

The tap continued. Aila became focused, her brows furrowed, wondering why she could not slide in at will. This was an opportunity.

"Eliana! Pull back. What are you doing?" Elena was awake and I could see she feared for my life.

I could feel everyone's eyes on me. Aila drew closer to me and I walked closer to her, a step at a time, staring into her eyes. Blood slowly trickled down from her nostrils. She was fighting hard to get into my mind and it was costing her.

Her obsession for power and control over others had taken out any empathy or humanity. She had none left. That was the reason she chose to cause havoc and kill for no reason. She wanted the world at her feet.

More blood gushed out from her ears as well. Aila held her head with both hands and screamed in anger. Inahan Elena and the others rolled and curled up into a ball, in pain. I heard screams of my clan members from within the mansion. Aila's scream was also a form of mind control.

I could not stand it anymore. My heart was filled with pain for both my clan and for Aila. I loved her as my teacher. I had to do the needful.

I raised my hands and in a pulling motion, pulled three iron spear-like bars from the crushed gates and arrowed them towards her. I was sure of my target and the metal bars obeyed me. It was like time stood still. While the bars were in flight, I melted the edges within nanoseconds and sharpened them for easy entry. Aila was too distracted to know what I had done.

In her screaming throes, the bars pierced through her, nailing her to the ground. One directly through the heart, another through her forehead and another through her throat. The screams stopped instantly followed by a grunt. Blood trickled out from the side of her mouth. There was total silence. The mansion became deadly still. Aila was dead.

I'd never been this weak before. The execution took considerable energy from me as I slumped to the ground. Inahan Elena rushed to my side. I guess we are safe now. Did I do right by my race? Was it a good use of my ability to execute a high council member? Is this ability a curse or a blessing?
