In life there are special people who are worthy of emulation. These people are called "Mentors".
- What are the roles of a mentor?
- How do I find my mentor?
I shall give you the role and ways to find your mentor as I proceed.
Firstly, who is a mentor. A mentor is simply a wise person who give good advice. A mentor must be tested and proven. One who has lived a life worthy to be emulated.
There are special roles a mentor do play or perform in one's life which is to always inspiring to us.
- A mentor should always aspire to inspire his mentees.
- Another role is to show the mentees the way to do and direct them to their desire paths. A mentor should be like a shepherd who leads his sheep's to the right path. A mentor should never lead his mentees to a destructive path.
- To Correct : this is also a role to be played by a mentor. When a mentee is wrong or does the wrong thing, it is the duty of a mentor to correct him/her. To leave the mentee uncorrected is the fault of the mentor.
- Teaching Is A Role of The Mentor : The mentor is expected to teach the mentees things of the benefit to the mentees. The mentor does lots of things to enable his/her mentee grow and become expedient.
The question on how to find or locate their mentor have made people lose interest in having a mentor.
There are two types of mentors
- Unrelated Mentor : A mentor that aren't familiar with their mentees, those kind of mentor in which their mentees are being mentored by their way of life, character or achievements. For example I have a mentor I haven't seen (Bishop David O. Oyedepo).

He is my mentor because of his great words and the kind of life he lives. He inspires me on the other hand.
- Relational Mentor : Those are our mentors which are close to us in life such as friends, family. I have another mentor that I see (My Mother).

She gives me advice and words to wisdom. She helps build up the right mindset to life. So one can find a mentor by either picking one in line with his/her occupation or one who is not in line with your occupation but can give words of wisdom to have the right mindset of life.
A mentor should be your friend, not someone you are scared or afraid of. Everyone needs a mentor, who is truly a MENTOR.
