What Do You Look Out For Each Time You Return To Your Blog?

The Hive community has been a blessing to many people. It has allowed most of us to monetize our creations, be it articles, artworks, videos, etc. Content creators who were privileged to discover Hive have abandoned centralized social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram where their contents are not easily monetized.

Nevertheless, the Hive blockchain is structured in such a way that your earning is a function of other members' engagement on your post. This has been a challenge to many content creators because of the poor engagement they receive on articles they spent hours drafting. Some users give up easily after some time due to low engagement on their posts, while some stayed focused, and through their actions, drive engagement to their posts.

The question in the title is mainly for Hivans who are still in the Hive community irrespective of what they earn.
One certain thing is the fact that When we make a post, we are expecting rewards from the post. This is one of the features of the Hive community.

So, between upvotes and comments, which do you value more?

For me, In as much as I want to see upvotes amounting up to thousands of dollars on my post, I value comments. Most times I see a user upvoting 100% on my post. Indeed, I am happy because it shows that they agree with what I have written. However, they end up dropping no comment on the post. There are indeed some posts which the reader will likely have little or no comment to drop, less it turns to spam. There are also some posts where the writer may have made a good post but missed some points. This is where the reader should outside upvoting the post, contribute to the post.

The truth of the matter is that I would prefer to see more comments on my posts because it tells me that people are reading my post. That they are not just upvoting it, only for the sake of rewards. A balance between upvoting and comment is what I will hope to see in 2022.

So, I want to invite some of my friends to this table. I would love to hear your opinion on this. So, I will invite @mineopoly, @calumam, @scholaris, @samest. Feel free to join the discussion if you come across this post.

Sincere interaction is what we are all looking for. You will find an audience on POB and VYB but it is up to you to engage them. To be honest some of my posts are difficult to comment on because I am just meandering my thoughts, but I will find a comment and be surprised. There are so many posts produced each minute on Hive it is hard to comment and there needs to be some filter. That's why communities like VYB were created to encourage original content and engagement. Try a new approach to your post including something personal and a little challenging and I think you will find more comments.

You are doing the best thing to invite interaction... that is interacting with others. When people see your example they will follow^^

Yeah. Thanks for the contribution. For 2022, part of my approach on Hive will focus on comments. Thanks for joining the table. Much appreciate

As an artist (NFTshowroom) I write my blogs because I have something to say about the subject, but also to include my artwork, not the nfts from my gallery, just collages and doodles to accent the post. Money is not a priority, but as a starving artist every bit is needed, I do look to see the number of readers because it shows my message is reaching people. But I'm not bothered if theres few or no comments.
for me free speech is critical. If I felt I was being censored is any way, eg downvoted by whales to never be read land, I'd leave.
Hope the feedback here helps.

Awesome. Thank you for stopping by.

I Agree with you on this.

Coming to the downvote aspect. What could be the reason behind downvotes by whales? . it is normal if a whale downvotes a spam post or plagiarized post but downvoting an original post which does not violate the rules in any way doesn't add up.

Dont know the exact deets, but I've read multiple posts about it. You should be able to find them as easy as i did, if you look. I haven't been here long, so am observing from the sidelines.

Hey, I just realized I don't need to vote for this post because I made a comment.

Upvotes are good for monetary purposes. It also represents a way people can quickly vote to show support for the content. However, engagement also adds to the value of an article. In a way, the value of the upvotes becomes legitimized through good engagement in the article.

A balance between the upvote and comment will be ideal
