POB Photo Challenge : Travel - Arrival on King Shaka International Airport, Durban.

This post is my entry for this week's challenge in the #pobphotochallenge.

The theme for this week's #pobphotochallenge is TRAVEL.

Originally being from the Johannesburg area in Gauteng, South Africa, we moved down to Durban, Kwazulu Natal, on the east coast of South Africa back in 2003.

The rest of our family is all still living in Johannesburg, which means we do quite a bit of traveling between Johannesburg and Durban.

It's a journey of about 600 KM one way and takes about 6 hours by car. Flying to Johannesburg is about a 1-hour flight.

During the last few months, we've done two trips by car, and at the beginning of July, my wife took a flight to Johannesburg to attend to some family matters in Johannesburg.

She returned on July 2, and her flight was scheduled to land in Durban at 07h15.

I left home early to get some early morning photos on the beach in Umhlanga Rocks of the sun rising over the ocean before fetching my wife from the airport.

After taking photos on the beach, I left for King Shaka International Airport, and still being early, I took some early morning photos from the side of the airport, looking out over some parts of the runway.

I took a few photos of the airplane my wife was on just after it landed.

In this photo, the airplane coming in in the background (to the right in the image) is the airplane that my wife was on. Here it is just coming in from the runway, finding its way to its final parking space in front of the airport terminal.

In the next photo, the airplane is coming towards me (visible in front of the airplane in the foreground), just before it made the final turn to park in front of the terminal.

I then got back into my car and left for the main parking area from where I could go to the terminal to meet with my wife.
