As you arrive at the Durban Beach Front, you cannot miss the luxurious Southern Sun Elangeni and Maharani Hotel.
Going to the beach from the hotel, you walk through a beautiful park. Yet, the hotel is only 200 meters (656 ft.) away from the beach. Inside the hotel are 4 restaurants and 3 swimming pools.
I shared some photos of the beach area yesterday.
I took this photo, standing in the park, across the road from the hotel.
Turning around, right behind me, is the park with various elevated walkways and a nice open space for entertainment events.
I took this photo where you can get access to one of these walkways.
Standing on the walkway, looking up north along the road in front of the Southern Sun Elangeni and Maharani Hotel!
From this walkway, you have some great views of the activities below.
I got the impression these ladies were selling balloons and some other decorative stuff. There is also a nice venue where some live entertainment can take place.
Here are some nice spots where you can just sit down to relax in the shade...
Walking up to the northern side of the park, looking back over the park, I took this photo.
Everything is so peaceful here, not even the doves fly away when you come closer, as you can see in the next two photos.
And here is something else which is quite a nice attraction.
Mini Town. It is a small-scale replica of certain places in Durban.
This is the entrance to Mini Town.
They have this nice, colorful promotional board on the side.
This is one of the places on our "to-do" list to visit and then share some photos of it.
While walking in the park behind Mini Town, I was on a nice high spot and I could get a glimpse of what it looks like inside.
Obviously, the detail could not really be seen from this distance, but it gave me a fair idea of what can be expected.
I was amazed to actually see some movement inside. The one airplane was actually moving as if it was coming in just after landing. I also saw some trains on their tracks and boats on the water that was moving too.
We will definitely pay a visit (and take the grandkids with...lol).
Standing in front of Mini Town, this was the view of the hotel.
Next to the hotel is this gray building at the traffic circle (on the corner you might say), nicely shaped to "follow the corner".
It always catches my attention when we pass it. Looking at the name of the building, Althea Court, I presume it must be an apartment building.
And that's it for today, folks!
Thank you for reading my post!
