Response to tribe engagement metrics

I posted certain metrics yesterday and got a terrific response from the different communities. @jfang003 and @taskmaster4450le criticised me for the flawed logic, hence i felt that i will create a different post to explain.

First of all let me clarify one thing that I have huge respect for @jfang003 and @taskmaster4450le for whatever you have done to grow the community. In the reports published by @amr008, I have always seen upto @taskmaster4450le and @jfang003 as the role model for creation of engagement.

So friends please do not feel otherwise.

As @coffeelovers mentioned in his comment, you are a benchmark and it was just an attempt to find out where do the engagers on #pob stand. I agree that @jfang003 and @taskmaster4450le leave 100s of comments daily and that drives a lot of engagement and my yesterday's post was not meant to comment on your efforts.

Secondly, there is no objective of creating tribalism. I am not active on other tribes hence I am proud of using #pob. The way you take pride in using #leofinance.

But now coming back to the statistics. As you rightly pointed out saying, if I set up a community, put up a post, and leave 100 comments as the only subscriber, my community would be the leader since it would average 100 comments per subscriber?@taskmaster4450le, i have been reading your posts on hive and how much upvotes they garner. So again a huge respect for you too.

Maybe this will be a wrong comparison but when we look at the parameters i have given, where we have more than 198 subscribers, I guess this metrics shows how much activity is done by the community collectively.

Your criticism have helped me to re-consider the metrics. But i am happy that it was atleast taken cognisance by the influencers like you.As the communities grow there are many other things that come along. In case of #leofinance, the subscribers are more than 5000 but the not everyone is active as you are, whereas in case of #pob subscribers are less but the active users are more. @jfang003, I accept constructive criticism and welcome it. It made me think when you said that by posting just 1 comment you could be rewarded in #pob but in #leofinance it required an average 13. Completely agree with this point.

Your opinion matters a lot but at the same time @calumam @lucylin @marvinix @leprechaun @regenerette @fireguardian @coffeelovers @madstacks @charcoalbuffet and @vempromundo also deserve the appreciation for creating the much desired engagement in the community.

Hope this dosent stop you from posting, i love the stats work! Was there a solution suggested , like a weighting factor for subscribers?

When there is a constructive criticism then there is no need to stop writing. It helps to understand what others are thinking about your analysis and the thought process gets matured with this kind of criticism.

Well done bro ! Yesterday when you made a post it read something different. You made a strong point by creating the metrics and i m happy that you are ready to accept criticism. Today's post makes the things clear, i would strongly advise you to stay away from controversies and focus on interpretation of the data around you.
Today, i must say that you gained my respect as you said that you respect your critics. Well done ! I guess @proofofbrainio will agree with me that we need more interpretations than controversies.

My objective of creating the post was never to drag anyone to the controversies. I just interpreted the numbers which i saw on the different platforms. Yes i made some accounts tag but it was just to gain their attention and not out of any comparison. I am happy that you perceived it correctly. You can expect my support in all your future posts and comments as you understood the situation right.

I just hope you come out with something uniform and more acceptable metrics than the one which you proposed yesterday.

Thank you for the mention and I like your dive into the stats. I'm sure no harm was intentioned and things will get sorted out soon.

Wish we could load Hive Data into the cloud - say maybe BigQuery. Then provide a front end that users can enter their SQL query into to gather stats on how Hive's doing.

This is yet another possibility of getting into the analytics related to hive data. I would definitely like to see if you can import it into some sort of cloud and make an analysis of this data as well.

Thanks for the shout out!

I really like your take on stats, and it helps me a lot to understand many things in here. So far I haven't had the time to go over other tribes, but I feel like we are doing a great job.

Let's keep it up!
Always building bridges!

You have always been supportive of my writing on this platform. I am really thankful to you for the valuable support that you have extended me over the period.

where we have more than 198 subscribers

well, there are 203 subscribers, and 3,413 interactions now. hope it continues to increase
but there are 316 posters, it seems that there are still some who haven't joined the proofofbrain community but are actively using the #proofofbrain tag.

The count of subscribers is changing daily. When i posted it was 198, when you posted it was 203 and when i am replying you today, the count has gone up to 223. I am sure this is an indication of the growing activity. I am happy to see your active support to my interpretation of the numbers. Keep writing.

It's ok. Just remember to think about the comparisons and like always, showing some actual data is always better. At worst, you might just have to admit you used the wrong data for your analysis.
