Since I was very young I used to go with some friends to this place in the photo. In my opinion, this is the most beautiful viewpoint in my city (Belo Horizonte – MG/ BRAZIL) and, oddly enough, it's not a very well-known place.
I believe that everyone has some (or some) place that transmits peace, that is a place of reflection. This lookout is one of those places for me. I remember that I always went to this place to talk to deceased loved ones, or to pray on the eve of something very important (like my police admission test). However, the last time I went up there was about two years ago. Even during this period I heard that the street that gave access to this place had been closed.
As a police officer I don't work in this region, but recently I had to go near this lookout while on duty. After we resolved our demands, I decided to go there, since the officers who were with me didn't know that wonderful view. In the street that gives access to the lookout there was a makeshift gate and a porter, who gave us access to the lookout without any problem.
Going up this street, there is no square, or benches for us to sit on, there is no water or any structure that would attract anyone. In my city there is no beach, no rivers and tourism is not a strong point. But does anyone disagree that this view is surreal?

Mirante maravilhoso em Belo Horizonte – MG/Brasil
Boa noite, pessoal!
Desde bem novo eu ia com alguns amigos nesse local da foto. Em minha opinião, esse é o mirante mais bonito da minha cidade (Belo Horizonte – MG/ BRAZIL) e, por incrível que pareça, não é um lugar muito conhecido.
Acredito que todos tenham algum (ou alguns) local que transmita paz, que seja um local de reflexão. Esse mirante é um desses locais para mim. Lembro que sempre recorri a esse lugar para conversar com entes queridos que já se foram, ou para orar na véspera de algo muito importante (como na minha prova de ingresso na Polícia). Contudo, a última vez que eu subi até lá faz cerca de dois anos. Inclusive, nesse período ouvi dizer que a rua que dava acesso a esse local havia sido fechada.
Como policial eu não trabalho nessa região, mas recentemente precisei ir próximo desse mirante estando de serviço. Depois de resolvermos nossas demandas, decidi ir até lá, uma vez que os policiais que estavam comigo não conheciam aquela maravilhosa vista. Na rua que da acesso ao mirante havia um portão improvisado e um porteiro, que nos deu passagem ao mirante sem qualquer problema.
Subindo essa referida rua não há uma praça, ou bancos para que assentássemos, não existe água ou qualquer estrutura que atraia alguém. Na minha cidade não há praia, nem rios e não tem o turismo como ponto forte. Mas alguém discorda que essa vista é surreal?

Oh wow what an amazing view over looking the entire city. Fantastic, and I noticed you mentioned you were a police officer but not in this city. What's the work like in your country? Is it hard or is the crime rate relatively OK?
Yes, I'm a police officer and it's me in the right corner of the photo hahaha. It's pretty hard work around here. The crime rate is high and we end up under constant pressure from the media and society. We have had many governments with socialist tendencies in recent years, and this has made the population absorb this mentality. If you have time, watch the movie TROPA DE ELITE, so you can understand a little of the reality of the Brazilian police, especially the elite curtains. Are you a cop too? If yes, in which country?
Wonderful work, you look great in this picture over looking the city. No I'm not a police officer but I have friends who are. I predominantly work in policy work which is not that exciting.

Eu adoro locais assim, e aqui no Rio de Janeiro existem trilhas incríveis e locais com vistas maravilhosas também. Pena que já fiquei sabendo de muitas histórias aqui, de assaltos, o que me deixa receoso de levar celular etc para registrar esses momentos especiais. De qualquer forma é essencial sempre pensar positivo e adotar medidas de mitigação para esse tipo de situação. Trilhas sempre são bem-vindas!
