Happy Death Day is an American slasher film (subgenre of horror movies), written by Scott Lobdell and directed by Christopher B. Landon. It was released on October 13, 2017. I also wanted to tell you that with a budget of 4.8 million dollars I achieved a collection of 122.6 million dollars.
The film is about a college girl Tree Gelbman (Jessica Rothe) who goes from party to party, and apparently, does not seem to care about anything but on her birthday at night she is murdered by a mysterious person who brings a baby mask, and this day repeats itself over and over again, thus finding itself trapped in a cycle of time that does not stop repeating itself. Also with each death he suffers, his body ends badly, the day repeats itself but his health is worse. However, he can only break this cycle if he discovers who his murderer is, and has the help of Carter (Israel Broussard) with whom he always starts the day and is the one who gives him this idea.
It is very interesting how the plot unfolds and at the same time it makes you wonder Who is the murderer? o What would you do if you were in this girl's shoes? Since the day would repeat itself anyway and no one could know what I did.
In my opinion, what makes this movie work is the good performance of Jessica Rothe with an arrogant and cynical character that you will surely like, and will make you laugh. At one point in this story as she knows that she is going to die and the day is going to start again, she starts doing crazy things without caring about anything. Which is why I liked this film, since without it it probably wouldn't have any jokes and it would be boring.
At the beginning of the film I thought it was going to be bad, because of the repeated times that it died and revived the same day, but it was not like that personally I liked it a lot, it is very entertaining and with a different story where they pose this mystery to us. It is somewhat slow at the beginning but it is picking up pace and with an end that I did not expect......
I cant wait to watch this epic movie.
