MLM was very popular here in Nigeria around year 2017-2018 I lost my 25,000 naira to one after one of my friend tried so hard to talked me into it. As at then I hard no idea what it was, so I decided to tried it with that small amonut. I learnt my lesson since then never to get myself into ponzi scheme again.
But I know some people who still fall for it up till now.
