Roads are an important part of our lives. They connect us to places we need to go, whether it's to work, school, or just to explore. When I heard about the photo contest run by @friendlymoose with the theme of 'roads', I decided to take a walk around the country roads of my own village to see what I could capture. As I walked past the old farm that is now a posh cottage, the road started to incline, but it wasn't too steep, making the walk enjoyable.
I reached the top where there is a lovely lake with an old boathouse. The road next to the lake is narrow, only wide enough for one car to pass at a time, so drivers have to take turns driving over the lake.
During my walk, I came across a lost hubcap from a car wheel. It's a common sight to see random hubcaps left on the side of the road in case the owner comes back for them.
As the rain started to come down harder, I found myself getting drenched, so I decided to rely on my mobile phone to take photos. Walking in the rain can be good as there are fewer people around. Usually, not many cars come down here either, so it gives you the chance to appreciate the village roads without any distractions. Unfortunately, today the local farmer was out pruning the hedges, creating a tailback of cars. Luckily, I was on foot!
