Wednesday Walk: What are Inuksuks? Can KiKi Ride a Scooter Down a Grass Hill? Answers Inside:

in Proof of Brain4 years ago (edited)

Inuksuk’s are strategically layered rocks that resemble a human with arms stretched outward. These alluring creations are often mysteriously found throughout Canada, Greenland, and Alaska. Though originally built by the Inuit, many people of various backgrounds enjoy constructing and leaving welcoming inuksuks everywhere.

“The inuksuk may historically have been used for navigation, as a point of reference, a marker for travel routes, fishing places, camps, hunting grounds, places of veneration, drift fences used in hunting, or to mark a food cache.”

My Daughter and I found a inuksuk formation at the Richardson Stadium in Kingston Ontario today.

Unusually, @KiKiCat posed for a photo on her own accord (is the sky falling?)

and then I noticed that our dog wanted to know what we were fussing about

As I took photos of the dog, Ki wandered off. The next thing I heard was, “thuuuummmmp”

Damnit!! I missed the fun.

I guess K decided to see if her new scooter could handle riding down a grasses hill. I found her on her buttocks like Bambi but couldn’t get the photo in time. Here’s the image of K staggering onto her feet from the fall.

Making it back up the hill with a huge smile.

I guess she didn’t mind being in the wet grass; after K walked back to the hill she joyfully rolled back down (with her body, not the scooter). I have a great video of her adventure but the photo will have to do for now.

We had a wonderful walk and go out nearly every day. Having noticed that it happens to be Wednesday, I thought it would be fun to get in on the #WednesdayWalk. I think I did only one Wednesday Walk back in the Steem era, and continuously try but I lose track of days.

I’m happy to join in on this overcast, but lovely afternoon.

Thank you for reading and joining us today.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

I have seen the structures in pictures but never knew what they were called. They sound pretty interesting. I did expect to see a photo of it knocked down after the one of your dog sniffing it. It looked like the leash was going to topple it! lol. Anyway, thanks for sharing! I enjoy reading your stuff.

After reading your comment, I read my blog post again. I can see where it sounded like the inuksuk took a tumble.

Luckily, the statue was bigger than usual and the dogs lead is tiny. Thank goodness. Lol
