I have no idea what’s going on and I don’t want to know.
I can comment from the perspective of monetary drivers on Hive as a whole.
I understand that creativity should be the motivator on Hive and its communities and I agree, while I know that there’s more to it than that.
Quality writers, contest Creators, developers, designers, marketing persons, witnesses, etc can only do so much before factoring in the monetary state.
Life isn’t “we don’t have much time” but it’s about what we DO with that time. What are we feeding into activities and for What results?
Common expected results are financial rewards, aiding others, changing the world in a perceived good way, or survival.
Running contests, or doing anything other than writing a 150 word personal journal twice a week, takes a LOT of time, energy, emotional control, resources, and in some cases background education and experience. That isn’t the kind of activity that one will continue to put much into if the rewards that make them feel it’s worthwhile aren’t there.
Hobbies shouldn’t consume us and for many, if we aren’t getting the “paper paper bills”, or helping others, changing the world, or need it for survival, they will always inevitably walk away.
That isn’t my perspective; that’s human nature.
So, yes it’s about the money honey. It’s unfair to those who put so much time into Hive for anyone to say it isn’t about the money. Everyone seeks the same things in the end and in the society we live in, those things almost always need money to produce.
