#Courage

Courage to me means no fear, but it is the ability for one to overcome one’s fear when something unexpected and unplanned happens. I would say a courageous person is a brave one, and would always apply wisdom to his/her doings.

Courageous people would always believe in themselves and always stand up for their rights, the need to summon courage might come in different ways, either being bullied by others, having to defend oneself against an attack, many other things that could bring out the courage in someone. Courage is needed to begin something and gives the ability to put aside your fears and failures.

I would like to give an example of how I tried to summon courage in one of my days. It hasn't been an easy task but must be done. During my secondary school days, we did have an assembly where all students would gather together for their morning prayers, reciting some poems, and sometimes words of advice from our teachers. This had been going on like this for years and nothing changed not until we got a new principal.

Hmm. Should I say he was a crazy or useful principal to us back then, most students dislike him but other teachers love him so much because of his principles. He changed a lot of our activities.

Everything was fine not until he brought his act to the assembly and made this decision. He decided teachers shouldn't lead the assembly again, that we are to lead ourselves and they must stand, watch and correct us. Then every day they should just point on someone randomly to lead the assembly. This sounds funny but everyone prepared themselves for this unknown day 😂 .

To cut the story short, days passed by but I wasn't called upon. I was happy and kept on praying and thanking God for not making them choose me. Every day for the thief, one day for the owner, one day was my day as I was pointed out to lead, this was a great shock to my heart.

My heart began to beat so fast that I couldn't handle it. I asked myself "can I do it?" Not until I got to the front of everyone. Should I just keep quiet?? No. I have to say something. 😝

Sincerely I don't know how and where it came from but all I knew that day was that I was talking. Maybe an angel opened my mouth for me and started talking I never knew.

At first, I kept my face down and kept looking at the floor, the crowd was just too much for me to handle so I thought to myself would I keep on looking downwards when it comes for me to give a speech for the day.

This brought me to face the crowd all of a sudden and then focused my sight on someone that’s not looking at me.

Once I noticed the person starts to stare at me I would take my sight of that person and look in another direction. I did this several times till I concluded the assembly for the day.

I wasn’t that perfect but I gave the best I could. It was a great day for me to summon the courage and speak out of my fears. Since that day I have dared to face the crowd and speak without fear…

#Conclusion

I would end by saying courage breeds fear to confidence, the courageous ones surely have to overcome the fear in them and confide in themselves to make them brave.

Courage comes in many shapes, sizes, and on daily basis. Helping out a person who is being robbed trying to save lives either from a burning building, fire accidents are certainly courageous and admirable acts, even smaller occurrences can count as acts of courage such as confronting a bully or asking a secret crush out on a date both require certain levels of bravery. We all have courage deep inside us, but not realizing how and when to use it renders it useless as fear would surely overcome bravery in their lives.
