Shortly after my 300level second semester examinations I set out for a short holiday with my aunt and her family in sagamu, ogun state, Nigeria I had a smooth journey from Abeokuta to sagamu. I was exited as well as my aunt and my cousins I settled in that evening and we had some really fun gisting about my experience in school and playing games too it was even more interesting because a family friend of my aunt had her daughters come over so it was a really full house with lots of fun we later saw a movie that evening had dinner and our evening prayer 🙏 before we went to bed for the day
In the morning of the next day we had our devotion together and then I assisted my cousins with their house chores while and while I was sweeping the living room I heard my aunt talk about going to harvest lemon from the farm but just before I go on I must say my aunt and her husband practically utilize every space round the compound for some farming activities and they also have a yam farm somewhere in
sagamu
While my aunt was telling my cousin and Mr Olanrawaju who came visiting that morning in order to help out with the harvest on the lemon farm I volunteered to go with them as well so they gave me a farm cloth which I wore this is due to the fact that the lemons have thorns on the body so as not to get injured
For me the drive to the farm was a rather long one since I haven't been to the location before we drove for about 20minutes on the main road before we entered the bushy part leading to the farm we drove past a couple of other farms and one palm plantation particularly cought my attention but I couldn't get a good glimpse of it as it wasn't in the direction to our own farm and not too long later we arrived at our farm destination and it was such a wonderful sight to behold a 2hecters of lemon and pineapple 🍍
My aunt gave me a little orientation about how the harvesting is done after which we took sacks and went in now there were two species of lemons the round lemons and the over shaped lemons we harvested for some time and once we finished we sorted out the lemons in various sizes and sacked then we went to get some ewe moimoi as it is called by the Yorubas call it, it is a broad, green leaf used for cooking moimoi (beans pudding)
After we had cut some of the leaves we headed back the the car and loaded the lemon there after my aunt made a few calls and before we got out of the farm area the whole lemon we harvestd had been bought
