Birthday celebrations are not as old as mankind, it is an event that started along the line.
Historically, the Egyptians were the first group of people on earth that celebrated birthdays. However, the bithdays they celebrated weren't that of humans but of their gods.

The first mention of it was from the Ancient Egygt. Then, they put up celebrations in the name of their god; Pharaoh. They put up these celebrations according to the coronation date of Pharaoh, their king.
The fist of its kind happened around 3000 BC.

Just like many other things, birthday tradition linkened to Egyptians can also be traced to the Greeks. They celebrated it as tributes to their kings too.
In their own case, they offered cakes that they had shaped to look like moon to the luna godes. They also added lighted candles to the occasion to help the cake radiate light.

Moreso, the Romans in history are the first to celebrate birthdays to non religious objects. However, here, you can only celebrate your birthday after you turn 12 years.

These are the basic histories of birthday celebration we need before we can proceed.

To humans, Birthday is an anniversary of someone's birth. This means that once a person is born, his date of birth is noted and documented. This is why our birthdays vary from one person to the other.
Then birthday in the other hand can mean the beginning or the time someone (maybe, a business or project) was started.

Birthdays as right passages at different cultures.

  • In Africa:- In the olden days here in africa, the exact birthdays of children weren't properly documented. What they did was to group children born within a period of time into age grade. They use it to know people who will transit to adulthood at the appropriatetime.

  • In Judaism:- When a child turns 13 years of age, he undergo a "bar mitzvah".

-In Latin America:- Quinceañera party is organized for girls when they turn 15.

Birthday Celebrations in modern times.

Diffrent people in different cultures celebrate their birthdays differently. However, the things that stand out most in birthdays are

  1. It's a time to remember the beging and celebrate with loved ones.
  2. It is normally marked with gifts, cakes, cards, and parties.

Personally, I cease the opportunity to reexamine myself to know things I am doing well and areas I am doing badly. Then, make a resolve just like most people do at New years. After my birthday, my new year begins

My resolve for this year.

As my year has just begun, I have made a few decisions to help shape my dealings this year. They may include.

  • I plan to learn a new digital skill.
  • Read at least three 5 books on business and entrepreneurship.
  • Relocate my shop.
  • Exercise more snd drink more water.
  • Frequent health checkups.
  • Take #Hive more seriously.
  • Invite more people to hive and @cleanplanet.

Conclusion.

As always, birthdays are joyful moments, and I am grateful to God for yet another year. I will try to pay very close attention to my resolutions for the year.

Today is my birthday, but I haven't celebrated it yet. I hope to do so in the subsequent days.
