Good Day, Wonderful People of Cleanplanet. I hope your day went well, and I hope you kept your environment clean.
This evening was the turn of Clean Planet activity and as all lights were off at night, I had to use a torch to light my way. It was not exactly as I was used to performing my clean-ups during the day, but I was not going to let that stop me anyway. With the help of the beam of light, I was able to move around the area and identify litter that would not be visible to the naked eye.
It is a bit relieving to clean when it is dark since you are not aware of what is going on around you. The streets of the city were empty, and walking in the silence of the night, I think I realized what the real feeling of the city was. It’s so easy to underestimate how much a simple activity like this can make, but every single piece of trash removed from the environment is preventing the pollution of the earth.
It also occurred to me on the experience of how we should remain focused on our environment regardless of the climate. For both sunny and dark days, everyone, including adults and children, should be concerned with washing the environment. This might have been complicated, especially when using a torchlight tonight, but it also turns the activity into a little more adventure.
As I look forward to my next cleanup, maybe it will happen in the daytime.
