My Cleanplanet Activity for 17th of October 2024

Good evening Hivers.
Today after school, I had quite a list of things to do at home before I slept away. I would first do the laundry of my school uniform and this I found easy once I established momentum to washing. With that done, I continued with something I loved doing most: washing the car and watering the plants on our small farm. Every time I waited to hear how much they had developed, I then noticed something else as I made my way towards the kids.

Small remains of discarded snacks and pieces of candy were strewn all over the immediate vicinity of the farm. It was frustrating to see. How could any man or woman degrade the earth in such a manner, let alone near the plants that were so dear to me? I knew what I had to do before I could even think of watering and that relieves a lot of stress in case something like that happens. I took a small bag and started picking miscellaneous wherever I found them. The wrappers were sometimes wedged in between the plants and, at other times, had been moved to different corners of the room by the wind, but there was no way that any of it could get away from me. 👇 Are Images of how I performed the Activity.

It was a bit tiring most probably because it was after a day in school, but just seeing the place, you left it cleaner than when you found it is rather satisfying. When I had managed to pick up the trash, the farm was clean and very neat, as if even waiting for a wash with water.

After that, when I was watering the plants, I compared myself to a tree and realized that everything was fine. This is part of realizing that many things are intertwined – cleaning the environment results in the improvement of the health of the plants and, consequently, all of our health.
