It's normal for anyone to get disappointed at some point in life. For one to be disappointed means that such a person had hoped for something to occur in a planned way but then what happened is the opposite. After drafting and posting my cleaning post yesterday, I decided to check out for the new #cleanplanet biweekly contest prompt. When I saw the theme was “Been Disappointed”, it automatically reminded me of my worst month back then when I was a kid. I decided to attach my cleaning activity for today with the prompt and that's what I actually did.
Most unforgettable stories of my life occurred majorly during my high school days. My parents named me after my Uncle(my namesake) and that alone had built a unique and stronger bond between me and him. He treats me like his son no more, lol. When I got admission to high school, my uncle was very happy for me. My uncle is a businessman and loves hardwork and dedication. After my first session in high school( that's my first year) I came second position, second and second position in the first, second and third terms of the first year respectively.
When my uncle heard of my excellent academic performances, he challenged me and promised a goat gift during the Christmas break, if I beat his challenge. My uncle challenged me to take first position in my second year and he would give me a goat for Christmas. My uncle loves meat a lot. He alone can finish a whole chicken within an hour, lol.
Because of this challenge, I buckled up and dedicated more time to study than to playing games and watching TV, back then I didn't have a phone. I worked based on this quote I learned from Book Club in school, “When preparation meets with opportunity, success is inevitable”, I knew that with my seriousness and preparation, I would beat my uncle's challenge. Guess what! By the end of the first term in my second year, I emerged in first position and hoped that by the next two or three weeks, I would be given a live goat. But in the end I got disappointed. Do you care to know what happened?
Few weeks before Christmas, my uncle was shot in the leg by a gang of thieves who robbed his home. From what I speculated; the thieves attacked on Wednesday night, Monday and Tuesday were public holidays and my uncle sells his goods on Saturday and Sunday too. Banks do not open on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, so the thieves must have attacked believing that all the money my uncle had gathered from sales through Saturday to Tuesday will be kept at home since the bank was out of service for deposit of paper money.
But unfortunately for them, by the time they attacked, my uncle was drunk and instead of him surrendering and giving the money, he engaged them in physical combat and called the attention of neighbors who then called the police. On hearing the police siren, one of the thieves shot him at the leg and they all fled. My uncle was hospitalized for four months before his broken shin bones got healed.
I felt very disappointed but I knew it was never his fault. My Christmas joy was not complete because my namesake celebrated his birthday on the hospital bed. I visited him at the hospital most times but couldn't remind him of his promise due to his state. His treatment bils alone could buy a car, so I felt like asking him for my goat gift is more like biling a family man who's already on bills, so I had to let go. For me, academic excellence is not for my uncle but for my own good.
That moment of my life teaches me that life can't be coded, anything can happen to anyone at any time, either good or bad. A poor man who bought Bitcoin when it was less than worthless must be a billionaire now but those who plan on coup but it failed have their lives to blame. So life can leave anyone either in a state of happiness or disappointment and regret.
Thanks friends for checking up on my post. Here are the photos of my cleaning activity for today. I ended the cleaning activity with a proper disposal of the gathered trash into the trash can.
This remains my entry for the #cleanplanet contest round 13 as well as the #januaryinleo prompt for day #18.

Captivating body of words. You have done well my gee
Whaoo, so sorry your uncle had to go through such horrible experience. Sorry you couldnt get your goat again but you can always get one anytime you like now.
My goodness, so sorry about that. Is not his fault my dear. Thank God he is alive
Mehn, life can be so funny the way it plays the game. We can't just predict anything about it apart from knowing the next day date😅.
I hope your uncle is fine now?
