Hello everyone! Today I am going to share a few pictures of sunset. This was in a wonderful AirBnb my family and I went to. It is called Beacon Executive Suites and it is located in Georgetown, Penang. It had excellent security and safety measures. There was a skybar there among one of the top floors and it was like a sunroom in the building. We went there to see the sunset.
This is the building. It is in the island section of Penang so you need to cross the big bridge to get there. It is a strategic location because it's near so many eating outlets and interesting places.
This is the area going towards the skybar. The parts on the left and right are actually spaces for usage by residents. They are library, study area, multi-purpose hall, pre-function area, indoor bar and sky bar. They were all closed so I'm guessing that they are only open at specific times and maybe days too. The library seemed to be a neat place to study and focus especially during exams as it was so spacious.
It was a high floor at level 28. We could see almost the entire Georgetown from there. We just have to move around to different corners and angles to see all the places. From a little barn with cows, to children's playground, various shopping outlets, tourist spots and the mountains, everything could be seen. Had it been a little more high, the ocean could have been seen too.
Here's the beautiful sunset. It was blazing and so shiny. It was also a little different because I rarely ever see sunsets being surrounded by dark clouds all around as if it was going to start pouring soon.
This is me looking at the sunset. Well, I tried. However the sun was piercing into my eyes so I couldn't even keep them open. It was so, so bright and resplendent that I felt it penetrating the window of my face. Hence I only managed to take a picture of myself with my eyes closed. Even then I could see reddish void.
This was actually a mistake because you can see me blocking the main subject which is the sun. But I got a nice picture nevertheless as I managed to blink back some of the tears due to looking at the sun directly earlier.
I took more selfies and this time I paid better attention. The sun overshadowed, or rather overpowered the photo. But it also made me glow and look as if I have a brightening filter on.
This is a painting that I saw there. It was so large and tall. I think it is to convey that events can be organized here because there was a large hall nearby on the same floor thats meant for events. It was a beautiful, vibrant oil painting by an artist called Louis Gan. He is a self taught artist with hearing and speech disabilities. His determination made him a successful artist as I have seen other mural art he made including the famous 'Brother and sister on a swing' painting which is well known in Penang.
It was actually getting cloudy but that only enhanced the bright appearance of the sunset. The black clouds surrounding the sun made it more prominent although that also gives the illusion that it will be setting sooner or become less visible shortly especially if it's followed by rain. It reminded me of a quote.
"Don't forget: beautiful sunsets need cloudy skies"
— Paulo Coelho
I think we can interpret it as, sometimes challenges and difficult situations lead to a better outcome.
Thank you for dropping by and I wish you have a great year and may any challenges that come your way lead to an even better outcome.
