RE: From The 14th Floor

it was still nice to see the ocean water and hear the waves.

This is something I have not seen and have not heard so far in my life. I was born and live in Hungary. There is no sea, nor ocean around Hungary, and I have not visited any foreign country so far. I cannot even afford it. Nowadays I live under the minimum wage. Sometimes I have to choose between paying rent/bills and buying food.

Hi @xplosive! There is a lot of water around Maryland and our state is known for seafood as well as other things. We are lucky that my husbands best friend has a place there otherwise we couldn't afford it other than a single day trip. The only country that I've been to outside the USA is Canada briefly. Paying rent/mortgage, bills and buying food should always be what comes first for anyone. The first time I went to Ocean City I was in my twenties. I spent most of my time working to do the important stuff like having a roof over my head and such. Never got the opportunity to go to college or university but did work long hours to make up for less in wages. I don't know if you have it there but here there are some churches that will help with food and the state offers food vouchers if ones income is below a certain amount. It is upsetting to know that people sometimes have to make such choices. I do wish things will get better for you soon.
