In Nigeria, we are in the raining season even though it is still at its early stage. The weather has been harsh, hot and scorching for about six months or thereabouts but lately it is has improved due to downpour.
Rain is always accompanied by flood, heavy wind etc and in cases where buildings are weak or there is no good drainage for water to flow it may cause such buildings or structures to collapse. This is the case in one of my colleagues house. It rained heavily last night and as a result one side of the fence in his apartment collapsed. He had to seek my assistance to go do market survey for the price of concrete blocks and the quantity he will need.
According to him, the issue has to be treated as urgent, if not his house will be flooded and filled with so many dirt that flows with flood such as nylons, sticks, bottles etc. Apart from that his house is exposed to intruders and stuffs can get stolen in his house.

-A recommendation is that if the area where the wall is located does not have good drainage, at the beginning of the wall at ground level place pieces of 4" PVC pipe along the entire wall, every 2 meters (depending on the length of the wall) so that the water can pass through and the structure does not collapse again, or you can make a channel about 30cm deep about 20cm away from the wall.
Hi @excyguzman, thanks for these two thoughtful tips.
I feel this is the best method to curb any future occurrence of flooding or collapse in his apartment.
