Me gustaría compartir con ustedes una experiencia que tuve el día de ayer asistiendo a un evento de coleccionistas que me pareció bastante interesante para traerlo a este espacio.
El evento era el Numiscola, el cual se llevo a cabo en el Hotel Marriot en la ciudad de Maracay. Este evento se centraba en el II congreso numismático y del coleccionismo, cuyos aficionados se dirigieron al salón Aragua del Marriot, para apreciar diferentes colecciones de artículos que van desde monedas y billetes, hasta juguetes, cartas y otras antigüedades que tienen un valor especial.

I would like to share with you an experience I had yesterday attending a collectors' event that I found interesting enough to bring to this space.
The event was the Numiscola, which was held at the Marriot Hotel in the city of Maracay. This event was centered on the II Numismatic and Collecting Congress, whose fans went to the Aragua room of the Marriot, to appreciate different collections of items ranging from coins and banknotes, to toys, cards and other antiques that have a special value.
Para este evento asistí con mi fiel compañero de aventuras, mi novio Josdrian. Prácticamente nos enteramos por casualidad, ya que unos días antes paseando por el C.C. Las Américas, vimos un local que tenía la publicidad del evento, así que nos entusiasmamos en ir.
El congreso dio inicio a las 10:00am y la entrada era totalmente libre. Contó con exposiciones, compras, ventas, intercambios, subastas, exhibiciones, avalúos de artículos y conferencias que se desarrollaron en el transcurso del día. Nosotros llegamos a partir de las 2:00pm y la atención desde el comienzo fue excelente.
El primer stand que visitamos era uno donde vendían cartas de jugadores de beisbol, monedas y billetes de diferentes países del mundo como Angola, Argelia, Ruanda, Malawi, Egipto, Chile, China, Corea y pare de contar. Además de estos artículos, habían libros que se enfocaban en temas del coleccionismo de diferentes artefactos. Aquí, mi novio como es fanático del beisbol, terminó comprando unas cartas originales de diferentes jugadores de grandes ligas
For this event I attended with my faithful companion of adventures, my boyfriend Josdrian. We found out about it by chance, because a few days before we were walking around Las Américas shopping mall, we saw a store that had the event advertised, so we were excited to go.
The congress began at 10:00am and admission was completely free. There were exhibitions, purchases, sales, exchanges, auctions, exhibitions, appraisals of items and conferences that took place during the course of the day. We arrived at 2:00pm and the attention from the beginning was excellent.
The first booth we visited was one where they were selling baseball cards, coins and banknotes from different countries of the world such as Angola, Algeria, Rwanda, Malawi, Egypt, Chile, China, Korea and so on. In addition to these items, there were books that focused on collecting different artifacts. Here, my boyfriend, being a baseball fanatic, ended up buying some original cards of different major league players.
Luego, seguimos nuestro recorrido viendo diferentes stand donde tenían una infinidad de artefactos. Uno de los puntos que nos llamó la atención, fue un stand donde tenían uniformes, cascos, medallas y otras reliquias de la primera y segunda guerra mundial. Ellos son de Maracay y se dedican a coleccionar y vender estas antigüedades que con el tiempo han adquiero un valor no solo económico, sino sentimental, ya que algunos solo están para la exhibición y otros si se encuentran disponibles para su venta.
Then, we continued our tour seeing different stands where they had an infinity of artifacts. One of the points that caught our attention was a stand where they had uniforms, helmets, medals and other relics of the first and second world war. They are from Maracay and are dedicated to collect and sell these antiques that over time have acquired a value not only economic, but sentimental, as some are only for display and others are available for sale.
También visitamos la mesa donde estaban los chichos de Star Wars Venezuela, quienes se dedican a hacer shows de esta icónica y legendaria saga. Ellos son de aquí de Maracay y ofrecen su servicio para realizar shows en bodas, fiestas infantiles y diferentes eventos corporativos. De verdad que nos pareció super genial su stand, ya que tenían mascaras de los personajes de Star Wars y aprovechamos para tomarnos fotos con uno de ellos, además le regalaron una carta a mi novio.
We also visited the table where the guys from Star Wars Venezuela were, who are dedicated to doing shows of this iconic and legendary saga. They are from here in Maracay and offer their service to perform shows at weddings, children's parties and different corporate events. We really thought their booth was great, they had masks of the Star Wars characters and we took the opportunity to take pictures with one of them, they also gave a letter to my boyfriend.
Nos encontramos con una mesa que tenían las tarjetas de recarga para el saldo de los celulares, como por ejemplo la tarjeta única de movilnet y la de movistar. También vimos las tarjetas de las famosas maquinitas de juegos que se encontraban en el C.C Las Américas y en el C.C Hyper Jumbo en Maracay, esto me hizo recordar a mi infancia, puesto que siempre iba con mis amigas del colegio al cine y pasábamos a jugar en estas maquinitas. En esta mesa tenían tarjetas de todo tipo, hasta las que usaban para llamar en los teléfonos de cabina, tarjetas de empresas y una que llegó a dar Manuel Rosales en el estado Zulia, conocida como Mi Negra jeje
Eran muchas las mesas que se encontraban en el salón Aragua exhibiendo, vendiendo y comprando diferentes artículos tales como consolas de video juegos, gorras, llaveros, prendedores, botellas de refrescos, cervezas y gaseosas que existieron hace bastante tiempo en nuestro país.
We came across a table that had the recharge cards for the cell phone balance, such as the single card of movilnet and movistar. We also saw the cards of the famous game machines that were in the C.C Las Americas and in the C.C Hyper Jumbo in Maracay, this reminded me of my childhood, since I always went with my school friends to the movies and we would play in these machines. In this table they had cards of all kinds, even those used to call in the phone booths, business cards and one that came to give Manuel Rosales in the state of Zulia, known as Mi Negra hehe.
There were many tables in the Aragua hall exhibiting, selling and buying different items such as video game consoles, caps, key chains, pins, bottles of soft drinks, beer and sodas that existed quite some time ago in our country.
Tuvimos la oportunidad de conversar con un señor que estaba vendiendo algunos artículos, entre ellos ceniceros, pelotas de beisbol y otras cosas. Nos contó que posee unos banderines de los equipos de beisbol venezolano que existieron antes de los que hoy en día conocemos y le ha costado conseguirlos, por eso solo los tiene en exhibición. El último banderín que logró conseguir fue hace diez años y un señor le ofreció comprárselo y la respuesta fue que no, porque para él tienen un significado especial y además, le ha costado muchísimo conseguirlos.
We had the opportunity to talk with a man who was selling some items, including ashtrays, baseballs and other things. He told us that he has some pennants of the Venezuelan baseball teams that existed before the ones we know today and it has been difficult for him to get them, that is why he only has them on display. The last pennant he managed to get was ten years ago and a man offered to buy it for him and the answer was no, because for him they have a special meaning and also, it has cost him a lot to get them.
Quedamos muy contentos con esta visita que hicimos a esta gran exposición de antigüedades y queremos volver a asistir a eventos como este, ya que también quedan conocimientos. Ya para finalizar el día, nos fuimos a comer a nuestro restaurante favorito de comida china: Pei Wok.
Me encantó poder hacer algo diferente este fin de semana y comprarme un lindo llaverito en esta exposición de antigüedades. Quise compartirles esta experiencia y espero les guste. We were very happy with the visit we made to this great antique exhibition and we want to attend events like this again, since there is also knowledge left. To end the day, we went to eat at our favorite Chinese restaurant: Pei Wok.
I loved being able to do something different this weekend and buy a cute little keychain at this antique show. I wanted to share this experience with you and I hope you like it.
