My Introduction Post

Hello friends in Hive, my name is Ubani Ariba from Abia State of Nigeria. I'm pleased to be in your midst. I stumbled onto Hive some weeks back, though I wasn't keen in it then. However, my interest in the video clips of Brother Elisoriano, as propagated on Hive by @hiro-hive and @fatimajunio kept drawing my attention to the Hive Community.

And before you knew it, I discovered that Hive is a sea of knowledge where everyone that wants to be alive to the creativity of man should belong to. A tremendous wealth of knowledge is displayed on the Hive every minute of the day. With Hive, you travel the whole world, making friends at the same time.

Back to myself. I studied Biochemistry at the University of Benin, Nigeria, and was a food factory worker for a long time before switching over to teaching. Teaching had been my hobby. Even as a factory worker, I was involved in part-time teaching when I was on night shifts. And when my factory had a temporary shutdown for three months, I took up a full-time teaching appointment, and didn't want to go back to the factory when it resumed.

I derive joy in teaching and feel on top of the world when I'm with my students. I'm happy when they are doing well. In fact, the feeling that my success depends on, if they succeed, makes me to work hard for their success.

I'm married to my dear Jane, and our son is an engineer with the Air Force.

Paradoxically, I'm staunch opponent of wars. This stems from the fact that I witnessed the Biafran/Nigerian War as a toddler, and from my little experience and the much I've read about that war, and other wars, I hate wars with passion. I believe that wars could be avoided if everyone sees the evil of wars at the onset. I'm going to devote quite some time in Hive to wage war against wars through my posts.
