Going back on time with Google Maps || Ir atrás en el tiempo con Google Maps [ESP/ENG]

Hoy os quería hablar de uno de mis pasatiempos favoritos:

Today, I wanted to talk you about one of my favourite hobbies

Ver el pasado en Google Maps.

Por si no lo sabíais, Google Maps guarda una copia del anterior tracking que hizo el camión, por lo que podemos retroceder en el tiempo y ver como era cierto lugar hace años. Por supuesto, solo podremos ver a partir de la fecha en la que empezaron a trackear las calles, no antes, pero estamos en 2022, por lo que tenemos mas de 12 años de historia 😁😁

In case you didn't know, Google Maps saves a copy of the previous tracking that their trucks did, so that we can go back in time and see how a certain place was many years ago. Of course, this is limited by the time Google started to track the world, but we are in 2022, so we have lots of traking done 😁😁

Por si no sabéis como se hace, os pongo un ejemplo.

In case you don't know how to do it, here's and example:

Aquí es dónde trabajo, en el gran Dominos Pizza.
Para ir atrás en el tiempo, vamos a la esquina izquierda y clicamos en el icono a la izquierda de "Street View"

To rewind time, we go to the top left corner and click on the icon on the left of "Street View"

Aquí os saldrán todas las "snapshots" que se sacaron a lo largo del tiempo. Por supuesto, no va a haber una cada año, ya que el camión de Google no necesita pasar tanto. Depende de la zona en la que vivas (ciudad céntrica o pueblo apartado), tendrás mas historial o menos.

Here you'll see all the "snapshots" that were taken over time. Of course, there's not going to be one every year, because the Google truck doesn't need to come so often. Depending on the zone you live (a big city or a little town), you will have more or less history.

Aquí podemos ver mi Dominos Pizza en Mayo de 2019. La chica que sale en la puerta es una antigua empleada llamada Paula.
Lo divertido de ver el historial, es ver como cambia el terreno o los edificios, así que vayamos aún más atrás:

Here we can see my Dominos Pizza on May 2019. I can even recognize the girl on the entrance. Here name is Paula and was working there at the time.

Aquí ya empezamos a ver cambios jeje. Me he tenido que ir mas lejos por que en la posición anterior el historial me mandaba a 2014 y si me iba mas para atrás, tenía esta de 2018. Parece ser que en 2018 el camión de Google fue por la carretera esta pero no pasó por la otra. La madre que lo trajo 😠😠

Here we begin to see changes. I had to change my position cause in the current position, there wasn't any track between 2014 and 2019, and in the new one, I have one on 2018. It seems that the truck went by this road but didn't dared to drive on the other. I hate him 😠😠

Os aconsejo a todas y a todos que probéis a hacerlo, ya sea con vuestro lugar de trabajo, antiguo colegio, casa, barrio, etc... Si lo hacéis con un lugar en el que hayáis estado toda la vida, preparaos para el ataque de nostalgia 🎈🎈

I advise you to try this, either with your workplace, your old school, home, neighborhood, etc...
