A Fresh Start For Me on Hive - The Beginning of Something Good

in GEMS5 years ago (edited)

I have always talked about my steemit story, it never had a good start, although sometime in between things started to go well for me on Steemit. I'm not going to tell that story anymore as obviously everything didn't end well. Right now I'm glad that not everyone gave up on steemit like I did, if not we wouldn't have had Hive right now.

Carving My Hive Story

Well for once I had a good start on a crypto project. That alone is a good omen for me. Hive right now is less than a month old and I am happy to be an early adopter of this great platform. Every successful crypto project is always backed by a strong and cooperative community and Hive has all of those. I love the dedication of everyone here on Hive. Coming on here you see a lot of amazing posts and quality contents from which you'll definitely learn a thing or two.

This is the start of something new for me.

My plan here is to be an active member and try to build my fame. I don't want to be a side sitter like I was on steemit. I want to make a true contribution to the growth of this amazing platform. Playing my role means just more than making quality posts, but also what I do outside of hive. Spreading the word to my friends to join the hive platform, both those who were on steemit before and those who weren't. It'll be a long run, but the race has started already, we are taking Hive to the sky.

Amazing Features I love On Hive

I love to see Hive as a correctional promlject for Steemit. Steemit was an amazing platform before all of the recent happenings, but steemit wasn't without flaws. Those flaws were exploited by somepeople to take away the real power from the community. Those flaws is what Hive seeks to correct. I see hive more as an upgrade than a secession as somepeople would want to describe it. Below are some of my reasons;

TRUE DECENTRALIZATION

Decentralization is one of the core values of the blockchain technology. This decentralization gives every user and community member a say I. The activities that happen on the blockchain. We know of the news about how some exchanges were hacked and steem on exchanges were used to vote unknown accounts to top 20 witness spots. This is one of the flaws Hive aims to correct. Everyone here has a right to vote for witnesses to represent the blockchain and make decisions, that way we run a true democratic system here on steemit and every user and stake holder has a say in the activities performed on the blockchain.

TRUE FREEDOM

Again, another core value of the blockchain is freedom. One thing a social media on the blockchain should be able to brag about to those not on the blockchain should be freedom of speech. Everything should be left to the community to decide either with the upvote button or with the downvote button. When a company CEO or board members put restrictions to their users, it kills the motive of freedom. The blockchain should be a free street and such power should not rest on the shoulders of anyone.

NO BID BOTS

Since I came on Hive, I haven't come across any bidbot and that has given me more ginger to love the platform even more. When Steemit started to lose its core values, we witnessed the rise of so many bidbots and people now had to pay for votes they get. I hope Hive continues on this path, let all votes truely count based on the community love for the content and not some bought votes.

It'll Be a Long Run, But The Race Has Begun

Hive is still in its early stages and still has a lot to develop on. It won't be an easy run but backed by a strong, dedicated and willing community, we will scale all hurdles together. The Hive devs are working really hard and there is a lot that still needs to be improved on the platform. I'll highlight some of the problems I've noticed.

Difficulty Signing Up
I've tried to invite some of my friends already but they all had trouble signing up. I even tried using Esteem to sign them up but it still wasn't working. I hope this will be looked into. Let's grow our community with more active and dedicated users.

Error 504

The Hive site still experiences slight glitches or lagging sometimes, although there are alternative means to login to your hive account, it would still be nice if the main platform could be more stable.

Conclusion

If you are active on Hive, it's time you start to convince your friends on steemit to check out this amazing platform. A friend invited me too because I was long done with steemit, and I am loving every moment on here. Give them something to keep them busy during the quarantine. Have fun everyone and keep posting quality contents.
