Gobhi Aloo is a famous Punjabi recipe that can be cooked in varied styles. I mostly love to eat the most basic aloo gobhi with less spices but this adrakigobhi aloo is my mom’s recipe which is amazing in taste. Simple one, I’m sure all of us can cook easily. Let’s see how we make this super delicious adraki gobhi.
Cooking Time
20 minutes
Kitchen Standing Time
10 minutes
Servings
2 people
Ingredients:
• 250gmsGobhi
• 200 gms Potato
• ½ TBSP Red Chilli Powder
• ½ TBSP Turmeric Powder
• Dhaniya Powder
• Garam Masala
• Salt as per taste
• Amchoor
• 1 Sliced Onion
• 1 Chopped tomatoes
• Grated ginger
• 2 green chillis
• Oil for cooking
Method
Step 1: Wash the gobhi and potato well. Peel the potato and cut into small pieces. Cut the gobhi into pieces, not too small and not too large. Make sure there are no minute gobhi particles, they tend to spoil the texture of the sabzi.
Step 2: Now cut the onion into slices, chop the tomatoes into small pieces. Grate the ginger separately and chop the green chillis.
Step 3: Take oil in a pan and heat it. Now add the sliced onion and let them turn brown.Once they are brown, add adrakand green chillis. Nowadd tomatoes and let it cook for 5 minutes.
Step 4: Add all the spices. Mix well and let it cook. Now add the gobhi and potatoes and mix it well with the onion tomato mixture. Cover the vessel and let it cook on medium flame. Keep mixing.
Step 5: Once the Potatoesahdgobhi are properly cooked, empty the pan in a bowl. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with chapatis/paranthas.
I might have to use a translator to find some of those ingredients but this looks delish.
Haha. Thanks @riverflows, please let me know in case you have any doubts, I can tell you the English name of any ingredient you are not able to recognize.
Why do we have servings for 2 people only?
I need my share please😀😀 and I might have to add an extra ¼tsp of the chilli powder😋😋
For that my friend @otydan, you will have to visit India. 😹 I will make one big plate for you !!
Sorry I wasn't around for sometime now..
Thats a good notice
thanks
You are most welcome @otydan. I hope you are doing great!
Amchoor is green mango powder - do you think I could use tamarind or lemon instead?
Yes @riverflows, you can use Tamarind or Lemon. In case of Lemon, add it once you are done cooking the dish.
