-Rainbow Peacock-

in GEMS4 years ago

Hello, everybody! It's a pleasure for me to show you a little bit of my art through this impressive platform, which gives us all the opportunity to express ourselves in the best way possible, each one showing all the potential according to their talent, which I think is impressive to see and be part of.

I know I'm just starting, however, here is my first illustration of this colorful peacock, which I decided to do because I believe it is one of the most beautiful animals in existence, and is considered one of the three most striking bird species because of the unique design and color of its feathers.

All my illustrations are done with colored pencils, also with some markers for some details I want to highlight and paintings only for more complex backgrounds.

I hope you like my illustration, soon you will be able to see more of my art.

The Making Process

  • To begin with, since I have the peacock figure ready in pencil, I begin to color the whole body and trunk in a very soft way to create a kind of base first which I will continue to work on.
  • In the second image you can see how little by little I am intensifying the color, something that I love to do since I was a little girl when I started drawing. In my illustrations the color will always be intense so that it stands out a lot and is the protagonist. Once I'm more and more advanced, I start to create the optical illusion of light and shadow in some parts where it's necessary, always with the intention of giving texture so that the drawing doesn't look flat.

  • In the third image I continued to work a little bit more on the color, focusing on the details of the peacock. Then I started to give color to the background of my illustration, very soft as I mentioned before, which I decided to change taking into consideration the image I used as inspiration (which I left at the end of this post), this I did with the intention of giving my own colorful touch to the illustration.

  • Once I finished giving more texture and last details to the peacock feathers, I dedicated myself completely to the background, mixing and intensifying all the colors until I got a colorful, very soft, diffused background, but that still looks nice making contrast with the peacock as well. In the moment I finished with the background my illustration was completely ready and beautiful.
