I read this book for the same reasons over 80% of Susan Cain readers read her book. I am an introvert and honestly, I haven't been so proud of being one until I read this book by Susan Cain.
Usually, I use to foolishly admire books like "How to make friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie because it portrays a version of the character that everybody expects you to live up to.
Susan Cain did not only give reasons for introverts to be themselves and not succumb to the extrovert ideal(a presumed standard everyone is expected to live up to) but also give reasons to the public why no one should be forced to be what they are not just because everyone expects them to be.
Introversion isn't a disease and shouldn't be seen as one.
Dear introvert, there is nothing wrong with being yourself.
Best quotes from the book
~Those who know do not speak, those who speak do not know
~I don't know what lies around the bend but I believe that the best does.
~In a gentle way, you can shake the world.
Susan Cain also took valuable time to mention lots of books in her course of the discussion. Some of these books include:-
~Quite strength by Rosa parks
~Understanding Human nature b6 Alfred Adler
~The organization man by Williams Whyte
~Good to great by Collins
And many more.
I would recommend these book to
