This is @pandamama with my re-introduction to HIVE

Hi everyone, I’m Christine, aka Pandamama and I live in Limassol, Cyprus.

I was introduced to steemit in June 2017 by my son, @deimus and his friends @patrickm and @starkerz almost three years ago.

A little of where I came from. Born in South Africa to wonderful parents - both who have sadly passed away, my late mother at a very early age of 64. She was the most beautiful person in the whole world - both inside and out. If I could be half the person she was, I will be a very happy person.

Fast forward to Mauritius where my father retired and eventually passed away just before turning 80. He was a character and a half and he ran a small boutique hotel (auberge) – if you can deem to call it boutique, with concrete floors and iron beds – but it still had an amazing atmosphere none the less. One of his clients painted this beautiful picture of the outside of the place.

This is a picture of me and my father outside the auberge - Hmmm a tad younger - and looking like my beautiful daughter.

Only 7 rooms in total and a grass verge before the sand and sea, birds waiting on the branches to be fed as the old man came out with his bowl of rice and crumbs.

He spent most of his days in the sun - so he was seriously tanned as you can see from the photograph

So coming from a background of hospitality we, my son and I fell into the hosting of an airbnb like a sail takes to the wind.

So, this is only part of what I do for my keep. My other son was at the time in the UK and bought a family property with much work and much heartache as it was not easy for a South African to buy in the UK (all sorts of laws in the UK) I am immensely proud of what he achieved in the UK in his time there. I spent 17 months with him and we both worked incredibly hard. He bought a property up north and has a share in a property in Cyprus. This is a picture of my son, Lee and I two years ago on a property tour in Cambridge. He is now also in Cyprus. He is also on the platform as @leelektrik

Prior to coming to Cyprus I was a social media manager to artists of a varied natures. My daughter is a singer, songwriter, producer, videographer to name a few of her attributes. Her name is Eden Michelle and was also running her social media. She WILL be the best producer this world has known – as was told to me by the producer of her album – the late Jon Buckley. Three years later and she is doing very well in her music career. You can have a look at her introduction to HIVE on @edenmichelle

Besides running my airbnb I also posted many articles of all of the artists over the years. I will be turning 70 in August and although my heart is still very much in the music and the artists - they have all moved on. It still doesn't stop me from posting about them when I have any news.

One very special friend that needs to be mentioned that I met in my early days on the blog is @offoodandart. She and I met on a cooking competition and then started our own 2 years ago called @cookwithus. More recently we have teamed up with @merej99 to run with CWURecipe Book which is one of the communities she started on HIVE a month ago. Join us there and add your recipes, which we want to turn into an ebook as soon as the time is right.

I can't leave this page without giving thanks to my beautiful late mother who made me the person I am today and to my beautiful children - did I mention that I made beautiful children!!

So glad to be here, follow me and my new journey on HIVE.

I also joined Whaleshares and have been busy on that platform making lots of new friends.

Very excited about HIVE - it's like being on a brand new platform only with lots of friends - and now I'm meeting and catching up with old friends again - very exciting times - like opening up a new present every day.

Most of what I have shared is on my original introduction letter when I first joined.

Since then, of course there have been many changes - both of my sons are now married and only my daughter remains single although very much with a loving partner.

I have written blogs about both of the weddings and wonderful to have new extended family.

Now we are in lockdown - and what an historical place in time to write about for many years to come. We have all been so much more creative and that will show up in our blogs.

Missing human interaction as the only company I have is my daughter's precious cat, Zara - and I write about her often enough. She brings me great joy.

I'm also blessed to live in a penthouse with almost 360% views of the city and the sea.

You'll meet the rest of my family in my future blogs - otherwise I may as well write a book. Actually, many a true word said in jest - because at the insistence of my daughter, Eden, I am busy with a biography.
