A Black Christmas - and White, it seems.

I've never been one to be a Negative Nancy, rather I consider myself to be a realist. If I were asked to summarize the Christmas spirit this year I would first start with a few lyrics from John Lennon's Happy Christmas and merge them with a few lyrics from Pink Floyd's Time. Thus it would read along the lines of:

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

No too cheery, eh? In short you have to call things the way you see them and to my eyes, it just aint good. For example let's consider a few of the news stories from the past couple of days. First we've got illegal immigrants stabbing citizens and setting a woman on fire while people watched her burn to death in public. Next we have somehow managed to shoot down our own F-18 Super Hornet and nearly shoot down a second one while conducting combat operations in the Red Sea. And of course let us not forget we have drones of an unknown origin across the country shutting down military bases for hours at a time all the while our government tells us there's nothing to see here, everything's fine, don't worry about it but whatever you do don't shoot them down!

We need a change, and fast! I think Trump and team are going to have their hands full. I hope they can bring us back from the brink!
