In this post, I want to tell you about my trip with my husband to the Cold City. Takengon Aceh Tengah - Indonesia.
On December 27, 2019. My husband and I headed to a tourist spot, the only one in my area that is famous for being cold, namely Takengon Aceh-Indonesia. The distance we traveled to get to the cold city was about 7 hours from where we lived, namely in Meulaboh, West Aceh. By using a motorbike we left early around 6:30 am. We had never used a motorbike there before, let alone the two of us. Initially the journey we took went according to plan, at 8 o'clock we had to get to a very extreme place, namely the highest mountain road in Aceh we usually call the country above the clouds, a winding road to the right of a ravine and to the right of a high cliff. The journey that we took did not go according to plan, initially we wanted to get there quickly and we thought that many vehicles were also heading there, all of them were nil, and it turned out that from 8 to 10 we were just the two of us in the middle of the forest on the right and left there was no one passing by and which must be inhabited by wild animals, but we are still determined to get to our destination.
At 10 o'clock we arrived at the village in the middle of the forest which was wide and not too crowded. We stopped briefly to rest before continuing our journey. We had time to ask the locals why there wasn't a single vehicle that passed during our trip, and they explained that it turned out that vehicles, both cars and motorbikes, passed through the land above the clouds at around 10 am. Because if it's under 10 in the morning there are a lot of wild animals passing by. Thankfully on our way nothing happened.
Around 11 o'clock we resumed our journey which is still far away, by passing through mountains and mountains again, but we really enjoyed the journey that we passed because the scenery was very beautiful. From a distance the houses were already visible, around 1 o'clock we arrived at the city we were going to, Takengon Aceh Tengah. After we arrived in the cold city (Takengon) we were invited by friends who had lived there for a long time, our friend named Vida and her husband treated us well, they also told us about the beauty of tourist attractions in the cold city (Takengon). The night had passed we rested at their house, and they had prepared a place for us for two nights there. The day was already morning and we were getting ready to go to tourist attractions in the cold city, the first tourist spot we went to was in Pantan Terong, there the scenery was very beautiful and the place was in the highlands in the middle of it seen Lake Laut Tawar which very beautiful. Tourists are very crowded who come from various regions. We really enjoyed the beauty of the scenery.
The second tourist spot that we went to was in Lut Tawar, namely Laut Tawar, there is no less beautiful, in that place they provide several boats to enjoy the beauty of going around the freshwater lake, the atmosphere is very peaceful with a breeze in the middle of the lake Fresh Sea. It was noon, before we continued our journey we had time to eat and worship for a while. The third tourist spot we went to was in Burtelege, a beautiful and peaceful place, I didn't want to leave it. We are very happy and satisfied walking in the cold city (takengon). In every tourist spot, they don't forget to provide delicious coffee, because Takengon, Central Aceh is very famous for its specialty coffee, even the people's income there is by farming coffee. On the second day, we took a walk in the coffee plantation and the coffee grinding process. Don't forget to bring home the typical Taken ole-ole, namely coffee. After being satisfied enjoying the beauty of the cold city, my husband and I said goodbye to friends who had been loyal to take us around the tourist attractions in the cold city.
We came home around 1 pm which was a very different atmosphere when we left two days ago, because there were already very many passing vehicles. After traveling so far, we arrived at the place we were staying at around 8 pm.
Thus a short story about the very beautiful weekend trip we went through.
