La comida de las nubes

What do clouds eat?
That's what I wondered as I looked at the bright sky today.

Las veo andar,
y a la mesa llegar,
quizás comerán pan,
mucho pan para mas esponjosa quedar.

I see them walk and come to the table,
perhaps they will eat bread, a lot of bread to make it fluffier.

También podría gustarles la sopa,
el arroz y otras cosas
ojalá sed no tengan,
porque no hay agua en la mesa.

They might also like soup, rice and other things I hope they are not thirsty, because there is no water on the table.

Y sí encuentran café,
beberan y se mancharan también,
ya no será una blanca nubosidad
sino una nube oscura con manchas de verdad

And if they find coffee, they will drink it and they will be stained too, it will no longer be a white cloud but a dark cloud with real spots.

Nubes, nubes son,
comen lo que encuentran sin meditación,
es que a ellas no les importa el color,
solo ser gorditas para verse mejor.

Clouds, they are clouds, they eat what they find without meditation, they don't care about the color, they only care about being chubby to look better.
