Castrignano del Capo Beach - Family Vacation with Kids in Italy

in GEMS6 days ago

Hello friends. On the next day of our Italy vacation we woke up to the sea breeze. We had breakfast outside in a very comfortable and beautiful setting. We drove for 15 minutes to get to the beach.

We didn’t go to the beach near our house because it was a rocky one. Instead, we went to a sandy beach, which was 15 minutes away by car. But we should have come earlier, as it was already past 9:30 am. Tourists were making the most of their last days of vacation because August is the holiday month here. This place is called Castrignano del Capo, according to Google Maps. It’s a small town in the southeastern part of Italy in the Puglia region, known for its beautiful beaches, historic villas and stunning coastline.

We went for a swim. I had bought my daughter a new toy, a police car. She loves playing with these kinds of toys. When you pressed its button, it made a whee-oo whee-oo sound. Her dad had also bought me a chair so I could relax on the beach. We brought an umbrella with us. We stayed until 2 pm, then returned home to stay out of the sun. We tried to avoid being outside during the hottest hours. Everyone applied sunscreen and we went for a swim. The water was a little cool, but it was clean and clear. My daughter had already started swimming.

My little one was a bit scared, but her dad was with her and she would get used to it. The sand was soft and beautiful. The sea was clear, there were many people, but the atmosphere was very pleasant. I swam with my little girl, but she wasn’t very enthusiastic. She was collecting stones and walking along the shore. I sat on my chair and chatted with my friends on the phone.

After we got home rain clouds appeared and we could hear thunder. My daughters weren’t sleeping, they were happy and walking around. They really liked this place. We need to buy a house in Italy. My daughters agreed with me.

The next day we went shopping. I didn’t like the local market much. The products weren’t of good quality. The vegetables and fruits didn’t look great. There were also few options. Maybe it’s because this area is made for vacationers like us. Then we went to a bigger market.

I bought almond milk. I had tried it the day before and it was really good. After picking up a few food items, we went back home. We had a successful shopping trip. It was evening now. I cooked dinner and took care of house chores. Before that, I had a video call with my mom for about an hour.

The next day I wanted to make pancakes for breakfast. The first pancake was a bit tricky on the gas stove. My first attempt got burnt because I was making tea for my husband and accidentally burnt the pancake. Anyway the second one turned out great. I topped it with cherry jam and some ricotta cheese. I couldn’t find soft curd cheese. I made coffee with almond milk on the side and the almond milk was amazing. It had a perfect almond flavor. I also got some biscuits, which were delicious.

After breakfast, we went to the beach. The path to the beach was quite steep.

There are many villas around here. They are beautiful places with large plots of land. In the area where we stayed, everything is spacious and well-organized. By the evening it was fitness time. We did a fitness tour that day, starting with a walk to target the hips and get rid of some belly fat.

We arrived at a spot that seemed like a beach, but it actually only had rocks. People swim here, but the rocks are very sharp and dangerous. The water here is really clear and beautiful. There are fish and I watched them. My daughter was walking between the rocks, where there were crabs and she was trying to catch one but I didn’t let her. She’s not scared at all. She’s really a brave child.

The next day we went to a beach a bit farther away. There was nobody here but by going to this beach, we could reach the one we usually visit. There were fewer people and it was very beautiful. We started collecting stones.

After 12 pm we returned home. We ordered pizza, but I cleaned a bit first. I took care of the house chores and everything was clean. During that time, my husband and daughter went to pick up the pizza. When they got back home, we all had pizza together.

That day the boats were parked much closer to the shore. They had almost come up to the beach. There weren’t many people here, mostly older folks and groups arriving by boat. There’s also a parking lot and it's free. The ground here is rocky, so special slippers are required. My daughter never stops. She was constantly walking around among the rocks. This child is so brave. Sometimes the rocks are really big, but she’s not afraid of anything.

As the sun set, we were still sitting calmly on the beach. The atmosphere was so peaceful that we didn’t want to leave.
