Hello Hive friends! Today I want to tell you about an experience my family and I had when we took some things we no longer used to a Children's Home.
At the beginning of the pandemic together with the confinement, made me realize that my house was full of things that we did not use, so my mom and I started to classify: throw away what was useless and set aside what was in good condition to donate it, since we have always wanted to make this nice gesture for those children who are in shelters or in street conditions.
In January of this year some cousins told us about a Children's Home where they had donated before. We coordinated everything to go and when we arrived we were surprised to find that they were remodeling the house, the children were not there and we had to go back, they told us that they were going to inaugurate it on March 10th and we could go after that date.
The days passed and due to the restrictions here in Venezuela because of Covid-19 we had to wait for a flexible week to be able to go to the Children's Home again, since it is in another municipality and access was restricted.
Today again we were able to go and deliver the donations: three cousins, my mom and me. We were able to collect food, cleaning and personal hygiene items, clothes and lots of toys.
When we arrived we were attended by two very nice gentlemen, but they told us that the children were not there because they had gone for a walk to a park. In the same way, they received the donation and gave us a tour of the remodeled house, they explained a lot of things to us. The house was very nice, and my cousins, who had been there before, commented that the difference between how it was before and how it is now is significant.
This home is called: Children's Home San Juan Bautista and is located in the Municipality of Carrizal, Miranda, Venezuela, and currently has 13 children between females and males. We would have loved to meet the children, but I'm sure they were enjoying their outing a lot.
These experiences are extremely enriching for one as a person, since there is nothing more rewarding for the soul than helping someone in need. I particularly love to help, I consider myself a very helpful person and I wanted to do this for a long time, although I had already given away other things before, I did not deliver the donation but a third party who was in charge of gathering everything to then deliver it, then I always had the desire to go to a Children's Home and deliver the donation personally.
My family and I are planning again to go to the Children's Home, to do some other social work, to bring something to share with the children and also to go to other places and I hope to be able to share all this experience with you. In order to help, it is not necessary to contribute something big, the people who really need help will not care if it is a lot or a little but the intention.
