Bueno, este mes pasado me hice promesas vacías y me vengo dando cuenta hasta ahora. Como suelo leer mucho me gusta hacer un Wrap Up a final de mes que coincide con el video que subo a mi tiktok donde les hablo de lo mismo. El mes pasado les había comentado que fue un muy mal mes de lectura, ya que leí solo 5 libros y que en Agosto pensaba leer mucho más, para retomar el ritmo de siempre. El caso es que volví a leer solo 5 libros, aunque me sentí mucho mejor leyendo, ya que amé la mayoría de las historias.

Well, this past month I made empty promises to myself and I've been realizing it until now. As I usually read a lot I like to do a Wrap Up at the end of the month that coincides with the video I upload to my tiktok where I talk about the same thing. Last month I had told you that it was a very bad reading month, since I read only 5 books and that in August I was planning to read a lot more, to get back to my usual rhythm. The thing is that I went back to reading only 5 books, although I felt much better reading, as I loved most of the stories.

Comencé el mes leyendo la saga Twisted, un dark romance bastante sutil, enfocado en las relaciones de un grupo de amigas, relaciones un tanto tóxicas, con un poco de violencia o acciones cuestionables (no mucho), lenguaje un poco "fuerte" y libros que yo recomendaría para mayores de 18. Comencé con Twisted Love, con el trope de "el mejor amigo de mi hermano" un libro que mucha gente odia un poco, pero que yo amé demasiado, me enamore tanto de Alex Volkov que lo puse de fondo de pantalla de mi teléfono.

Luego leí Twisted Games, un romance más sano y que también me gustó muchísimo, con el trope de "mi guardaespaldas". Después leí Twisted Hate que no me gustó mucho, pero que no odie, un Enemies to Lovers con el trope de "el hermano de mi mejor amiga". Y finalmente Twisted Lies, donde queda perdidamente enamorada de Christian Harper, con el trope de "relación falsa" y el libro que más me gustó de todos, ya que los últimos capítulos se sienten como un epílogo largo de todas las parejas.

I started the month reading the Twisted saga, a pretty subtle dark romance, focused on the relationships of a group of girlfriends, somewhat toxic relationships, with a bit of violence or questionable actions (not much), a bit “strong” language and books that I would recommend for over 18. I started with Twisted Love, with the trope of “my brother's best friend” a book that many people hate a bit, but that I loved too much, I fell in love with Alex Volkov so much that I put it on my phone's wallpaper.

Then I read Twisted Games, a more wholesome romance that I also really loved, with the trope of “my bodyguard”. Then I read Twisted Hate which I didn't really like, but didn't hate, an Enemies to Lovers with the “my best friend's brother” trope. And finally Twisted Lies, where she falls head over heels in love with Christian Harper, with the “fake relationship” trope and the book I liked the most of all, as the last few chapters feel like a long epilogue to all the couples.

Y para finalizar el mes retomé la fantasía, que ya extrañaba mucho, con un libro que originalmente comete a leer en Junio, pero lo había abandonado porque me aburrió un poco y no me estaba gustando. Pero cuando le di una segunda oportunidad me termino enamorando un poco. En este libro seguimos la historia de una bruja, Rune, que vive oculta en un pueblo donde todas las brujas son cazadas. Con un sistema de magia algo diferente, donde las brujas deben cortarse y usar sangre para realizar sus hechizos, pero sus cicatrices se vuelven plateadas y de esta forma los cazadores las reconocen y las atrapan.

Rune, trata de ayudar a las demás brujas, pero debe asociarse con uno de los mejores cazadores de brujas, Gideon, quien la odia en secreto por su personalidad, aunque no sospecha de ella. Este libro fue uno de esos enemies to lovers donde duele cuando se enteran de la verdad, y que tiene un final con una ansiedad tremenda, y es por ello que me gustó tanto, le di unas 5 estrellas bien sólidas.

And to finish off the month I picked up fantasy, which I missed a lot already, with a book I originally started reading in June, but had abandoned because it bored me a bit and I wasn't liking it. But when I gave it a second chance I ended up falling in love with it a bit. In this book we follow the story of a witch, Rune, who lives in hiding in a town where all witches are hunted. With a somewhat different system of magic, where witches must cut themselves and use blood to cast their spells, but their scars turn silver and in this way the hunters recognize them and catch them.

Rune, tries to help the other witches, but she must team up with one of the best witch hunters, Gideon, who secretly hates her because of her personality, although he does not suspect her. This book was one of those enemies to lovers where it hurts when they find out the truth, and it has an ending with tremendous anxiety, and that's why I liked it so much, I gave it a solid 5 stars.

Este mes volví a leer poco, peor la saga Twisted y Crimson Moth fueron libros que merecieron la pena. La saga Twisted para mí en general sería unas 4.5 estrellas, fueron libros que amé y que mantuvieron viva la llama del romance en mí. Y Crimson Moth me dio esa dosis de fantasía que tanto necesitaba, con un buen romance. Pero si quiero lograr mi objetivo de 100 libros leídos este año, debo leer en promedio 12.5 libros por mes, lo cual sé qué puedo hacer, pero dependerá de mi estado de ánimo. Así que honestamente planeo lanzarme ese reto. Espero que les haya encantado conocer este Wrap Up, nos leemos pronto!

I read little again this month, but the Twisted saga and Crimson Moth were worthwhile books. The Twisted saga for me overall would be about 4.5 stars, they were books that I loved and kept the flame of romance alive in me. And Crimson Moth gave me that much needed dose of fantasy with a good romance. But if I want to reach my goal of 100 books read this year, I need to read on average 12.5 books per month, which I know I can do, but it will depend on my mood.
