Hello @exploringella! This is @traciyork from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive and introduced yourself - congratulations and welcome! And what an awesome introduction it is! Writing, artwork, music and soul searching - seems you'll be adding a powerhouse of creativity to the community!
Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests (as you've already noticed...lol). You can check them all out at this link - Hive Communities, but as you asked for some recommendations, here are a few that you haven't subbed to yet -
Also, as Hive can sometimes be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide is a growing repository of useful and easy to understand posts about how the Hive ecosystem works.
Please be aware that Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog, so it is important not to include content that you don't own without sources (and it shouldn't exceed 50% of the post). For more information, check this post - Why and How People Abuse and Plagiarise by hivewatchers.
If you have questions, feel free to hop into the OCD Discord server and we'll do our best to answer them, and again welcome to Hive!
Oh actually, one last thing - I'm sure your amazing artwork must exist elsewhere on the interwebs, so when you have a moment, could you add the word "Hive" to the bios of one of your established social media accounts where you've shared them? Afterwards, please tag me in a comment with a link, so I can make sure your profile is verified. That way future curators can easily determine that it's really you behind this account, and not someone trying to profit off your creativity. Thanks!
Hiya traci :D
Thx so much for all the info you gave me and for the community suggestions! There is a lot to take in! I think I originally replied to the reply on your comment so actually didnt see yours until scrolling through my comments now. sorry for that.
I did not know that I was going to have to identify myself so i can share stuff here on hive, even though I know what you mean. I realize you read my intro post and I didnt get into any great details, because it is a bit of emotional and private topic, but so you can have maybe a little bit of a clearer idea about things, I thought I should probably tell you. I did used to have social accounts but I do not anymore. I only had insta ind twitter but mostly only used insta. but I spent several months in rehab and while i was there I was guided to cut ties with things in my life before my change. so I shut them down and I wont be opening those ones up again. I also dont even know if I want to open new ones. that is not a choice i am ready to make yet.
My drawings havent been shared anywhere on the internet either. not anywhere, so you wont see anyone trying to steal them or use them. Up until now it has just been me and my drawing tablet. I don't know yet if I will ever do anything with them. maybe, but I dont know yet.
I am not sure if it is going to be a problem for me to carry on sharing my things here, I hope not. So far I have only shared two posts with drawings and both of them had some screenshots of my progress in making them. would that be enough for me to carry on sharing? I mainly came here to share my art and what it means to me so if I am not allowed to do that because i dont have socials then that would be a bit sad, but I guess i would understand that and why you say so.
I would love to connect with more people and have seen that lots of people seem to use discord so thx for that link, but I wanted to just learn my way around a bit more before i start adding more things to learn and understand.
I will wait a bit to see what your reply is before I post anything else. thx so much for being helpful and letting me know the important stuff here on hive.
ELLA <3
Hi again traci :)
I already replied to your message earlier as you will see and I spent some time thinking about it. this is important to me and I know its not exactly what you asked me for but its the only way I can think to try. I opened a new twitter account and shared a video there. I did tag you. I would have shared it here, but wasnt sure how. this is the link to the tweet. I hope it helps and I will still wait to hear back from you.
Hey Ella!
Firstly, no worries about the delayed reply - even those of us who have been here for years still have a message or two that slips past us. Just glad to hear the Love Sniper info was helpful.😊
Next, apologies in return if I gave you the wrong impression - no one can stop you from sharing anything you want to on your blog. I add the bit at the end of my LS comment when I see an artist such as yourself, who I assume has an online portfolio somewhere under the same user name (which is not necessarily their legal name - anonymity is absolutely fine here).
So say you still had your ExploringElla IG, and the works you've already shared were there - just dropping the word "Hive" in your bio would be all that was needed to show you were actually the artist on both platforms. But videos like you shared on Twitter, or stills of your WIP as you go, are more than sufficient to show you've created each piece.
And since you don't have them elsewhere, there shouldn't be an issue with a curator stumbling upon them on some other platform in the future, then calling into question whether or not you were the owner of both accounts. Does that make sense, or did I confuse you further? 😄
Thanks for going the extra mile though, and starting a new Twitter account. Again no worries if you now let it gather dust while you find your footing here. Oh, and I've just followed you on both my personal and @hiveblogshare accounts - meant to do so earlier when I saw your tweet, but was knee-deep in our weekly Twitter @hivechat & I'm just coming up for air now!
Same with Discord - there are plenty of Hive community members who never use it, and while it's a helpful tool in your Hive arsenal (until such time that a blockchain version exists & is widely adapted), it's not something to fret about for now. If/when the time comes, if you need help getting started, feel free to shout out and I'll walk you through it.
I think that about covers everything from your comments (hopefully without completely overwhelming you with info). Please let me know if there's anything else I can clear up for you, and in the meantime, happy Hiving!
