7 years and more are coming! Happy Hive Birthday!!

Wow, that happened fast. Today’s a special day for me! It's my birthday! Well, not quite my actual birthday, but my Hive-Blockchain birthday. Today marks 7 years since I joined this incredible ecosystem, and honestly, that feels like a lifetime. Seven years is a long time, and when I try to look back, it’s almost hard to remember exactly what those early days were like.

If I dig deep, I think the first real moment I felt like I’d found my place here was when I started contributing to Utopian, helping improve Open Source projects. That was such a fascinating time... working together with amazing people, building tools, and helping projects thrive. It felt like being part of something much bigger than myself. And from there, everything just kept growing.

One of my fondest memories from those early years is HiveFest in Krakow. That was the very first time I got to meet the faces behind the profiles. Let me tell you, it’s one thing to interact with someone online, but meeting them in person? It’s a whole new level of connection. That event was just awesome! So many laughs, conversations, and connections that remain some of the highlights of my journey here.

And now?

Fast forward seven years, and things feel even more exciting than ever. The pace of the blockchain has picked up, the technology is evolving, and the community is thriving. I’m more involved than I ever imagined I’d be. Running my own witness node under louis.witness has been a privilege and a challenge, but it’s a role I deeply value. Beyond that, I’ve been helping out in various ways across the chain, contributing wherever I can to keep this ecosystem growing stronger.

It’s wild to think about how much this blockchain has become a part of my life. The projects I’ve worked on, the people I’ve met, and the growth I’ve seen in the community have all been incredible. But none of it would have been possible without all of you. The support, encouragement, and collaboration I’ve experienced over these seven years have been nothing short of amazing.

So, to every single one of you who’s been part of this journey with me: thank you. Whether you’ve supported my work, shared a laugh with me, or simply been a part of this wonderful community, I’m incredibly grateful. This has been such an enriching experience, and I’m excited for what the future holds for all of us here on this blockchain.

Wow, I just got a little emotional there, thinking back on all the incredible moments from the past years. My goodness, I’ve experienced so much and met so many amazing, wonderful people along the way. It’s honestly overwhelming in the best way possible to reflect on everything this journey has brought me. I can’t help but feel deeply grateful for the connections, the collaborations, and the memories we’ve created together. From the early days of figuring out what this blockchain was all about, to being part of amazing projects, to meeting many of you in person—it’s been nothing short of extraordinary.

Looking ahead, I’m confident that the coming years with all of you will be just as fabulous, if not better. I’m already looking forward to seeing many of you again at future events, and for those I haven’t met yet! Maybe this is the year we finally get that chance.
