Evening walk around Robinson mall, เดินเล่นยามเย็นรอบห้างโรบินสัน

The atmosphere around my favourite Robinson mall in Bangrak has gradually become more lively than the last two months. Most of the street vendors have come back to station at their old spots. This made it much easier for shoppers to find their preferred street food stalls. But I still noticed the crowd traffic has diminished by about half. Luckily this street bazaar is located very near the skytrain station, popular bus stops and the pier for commuters’ crossing to the other side of the river. So, traffic jams used to be normal feature in this area.

The lively atmosphere and vibrant vibes around this square mile have always seem to attract lots of regular customers to the old and non-luxurious Robinson mall and visitors to the local bazaar. Whenever I ran out inspiration, I would have an hour’s walk in this area. There are always something different to attract my curiosity.

I often buy fresh vegetables and mushrooms from the vegetables stall at the corner; long queue could be expected in the evening as commuters started their journey home. The prices of food, vegetables and merchandise in this evening market are incredibly cheap and we could get really good bargains. This market has been a blessing for middle income customers and those on very tight budgets.

I loved the natural flows of energies in this area; people dress normally without any brand name items which are the norm on most luxurious shopping centers. Ordinary and hard working people flock to this area in late afternoon till late evening. They could come out to enjoy a family’s dinner once a week at very affordable prices. I couldn’t believe the amount of food the vendors generously gave to customers. The street food is freshly cooked to order so people would have to wait for their turns. I always feel at ease and very relaxed walking around and browsing at all the stalls.

The sights and sounds here made me feel alive and more grounded in physical reality; I lived too much in my mind so I needed to be in touched with social reality shared by most local people. People around here are very friendly and polite; they seemed to know how to wait! I always admired these people’ s patience and kindness. I have been used to very formal and structured sets of social norms.

So, the seemingly unruly chaos around this area was quite disarming and educational for me. It is good to liberate one’s mind from the habits of routine cycles of thinking. So, I am very happy to see this narrow street being full of food stalls, motorbikes and people walking in all directions. These unstructured happenings do give me some hope for the surviving sanity of mankind in my country. I just hope that most people’s would be able to maintain their inner sense of independent spirit and anarchy so that the imposition of authority and force would never be able to conquer their love for liberty and freedom.

เวลาเรารู้สึกว่าตนเองใช้ความคิดมากเกินไป คล้ายกับว่าจะหลุดจากโลกความเป็นจริง เราจะไปเดินเที่ยวตามตลาดเพื่อดูความจริงในโลกกว้างข้างนอก เราก็จะนั่งรถเมล์ไปที่บางรัก หรือไม่ก็ขับรถไปช้อปปิ้งที่ห้างสรรพสินค้าโรบินสัน แล้วไปเดินเที่ยวแถวนั้น บรรยากาศของตลาดตอนเย็นที่ข้างๆห้างโรบินสัน เดี๋ยวนี้คึกคักมากขึ้นกว่าเมื่อสองเดือนก่อนมาก ร้านอาหารและแผงลอยกลับมาเปิดกันเกือบเต็มพื้นที่ ผู้คนก็เริ่มออกมาเดินเที่ยวและเปลี่ยนบรรยากาศนอกบ้านกันมากขึ้น เราเก็นคนขายของเริ่มมีความหวังให้พวกเขาสู้ชีวิตต่อไป

ที่ตลาดนัดตอนเย็นนี้มีร้านอาหารดีและถูกด้วย เขาให้อาหารเยอะมาก เหมาะสำหรับครอบครัวมากินข้าวนอกบ้าน เพื่อเปลี่ยนบรรยากาศ รถเข็นขายอาหารมีมาเพิ่มอีกหลายอย่าง ที่นั่นมีอาหารให้เลือกหลายสิบอย่าง และมีของหวานขายด้วย บางวันมีไอศกรีมกะทิมาขายด้วย เราคิดว่าคนแถวนี้โชคดีมากที่มีตลาดนัดตอนเย็นที่มี ของกินอร่อยไปราคามิตรภาพ และมีร้านขายกับข้าวด้วย เช่นร้านขายผักสด และอาหารทะเลสดให้คนซื้อกลับไปทำอาหารกินเองที่บ้าน นอกจากนี้ยังมีร้านอาหารฝรั่งและน้ำปั่นที่มีชื่อด้วย เราดีใจที่เห็นการค้าขายในตลาดเริ่มคึกคักขึ้น

เราเริ่มชินกับการที่มีรถมอเตอร์ไซด์ มาจอดกันระเกะระกะเต็มไปหมด คนแถวนั้นใจดีและใจเย็นมาก เขามีความอดทนสูงมาก ทุกคนต้องทนกับความลำบากและเหนื่อยล้าในแต่ละวัน เขาพยายามทำมาหากินกันอย่างสุจริต ในขณะที่ทางราชการมักจะทำตัวเป็นอุปสรรคและผู้สร้างปัญหาให้กับคนทั่วไป เราเห็นคนยืนขายของกันด้วยความเคร่งเครียด คนขี่รถมอเตอร์ไซค์ต่างก็เร่งรีบไปส่งของตามจุดหมายปลายทาง ทุกคนพยายามเต็มที่ในการฝ่าฟันอุปสรรคต่างๆ ตลอดจนภาระปัญหาที่รัฐบาลสร้างเพิ่มให้ ทำให้เราอยากเปลี่ยนคณะรัฐมนตรีทั้งหมดให้ออกจากหน้าที่ แล้วเอาแมวนิสัยดีๆเจ้าไปเป็นรัฐมนตรีแทน
