Many of us where affected because of the coronavirus pandemic. It really hit hard our economy and that is why we are mandated by the government to just work from home instead of reporting to office. This is only to limit the case of the infected in our community.
I am a market researcher, in which this line of work belongs to a BPO industry.
When the pandemic starts, our company let us have the computers to perform our job, but the problem here is that they will not be taking care of our expenses from the internet and electric bills, in which we expect them to atleast give us a budget, but they don't.
Second is, we actually have a free meal of 70 pesos, we already have that issue that they will not take care of our expenses, but if they'll just give us the budget for our free meal, It would really be a great help. BUT AGAIN THEY DON'T!.
Third, we open up the concern to our manager about our situation that it will be really hard for us to cope up with the expenses because he has the capability to reach out the head of the office. But he just replied "I already raise the problem, but I can't do anything about it. Just keep your mouth shut and just be thankful that you still have your job. And also don't rant too much here in our group chat guys, they will never give you your budget meal. Like really? We are all taking care of the expenses and the way he replies is really sarcastic. Just shut your mouth? and don't rant? Well, what a really irresponsible company we have.
After two months of being quarantined, our community was lifted from Enhanced Community Quarantine to General Community Quarantine, and some business establishments are already back in track. So I also expected that our company will let us go back to office to, since we are just located really near to the office. But they don't. How can we be thankful with this kind of management that we have, since our salary is almost incompetent with the expenses. In which in our case, we rent a room that is near to a house with an internet connection. And that make us 3x worse than the situation of others. We pay the rent, the internet and the electrical bills. But until now the company didn't have a response about our situation.
You must think that I must be thankful that I still have a job. I am! I really am! but I am not thankful the way our company handle our situation. It's just really irresponsible.
I'll leave a sayings here. " You are the CEO of your life, some needs to be hired and some needs to fired".

It must be hard working like that. You're voice can't be heard by them. "We should be thankful that you have a job." It might be true in some aspects, however it shouldn't be like that.
In this time of pandemic they should take good care of their workers. And for me if you don't really need that kind of job, you're not desperate to earn yet. Why not resign and find another. It's not easy maybe but at least you can be so sure that you as an employee has value.

It's not for me to say this but I just hope I can give you an idea in dealing things like this. I hate to hear those people said that "it's fine as long as we can earn." We should erase that kind of thinking to avoid those companies who abused their workers.
Yes I do believe that. Even though I am just starting my career there. I can differentiate it from the previous company that I have. The management was so toxic. Also the company itself. And I am more open about some words of encouragement right now..
hmmmm, yeah I think you should think of your situation now. Working is not easy tho and it will be harder when you doesn't agree what's going on. Always consider yourself as a valuable employee that they should taking care of. If they won't then they're not qualified to have you as an employee who works hard.
