It was a lovely day today and I decided to make a trouser, with a front patch pocket unlike the usual deep pockets, this is called a pant trouser though it comes with variety of designs and colours on my next post I'll show you the different colors that has same design and also we'll discuss about a different design altogether.

Today I'm going to show you how I made my trouser, the step by step and materials involved, here is the material when it hasn't been touched
IMG_20200616_115602_264.jpg
After buying the material from the market atimes it seems rough and you can't cut it in that shape to avoid making mistakes so you'll have to stretch it with iron. Note: not all the materials are that rough but on most cases the bail material is usually rough due to how it was packed but the roll is mostly plan but might still need iron to attain accuracy in the measurement.

๐‘ช๐’–๐’•๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ/๐’Ž๐’†๐’‚๐’”๐’–๐’“๐’†๐’Ž๐’†๐’๐’•
After stretching the material on the table. Now you'll have to place the measurement accordingly, here is the measurement for the trouser: waist (ws)40
Laps (lp)27ยฝ
Knee (kn)20
Length (lt)
Going with this measurement we'll add atleast 1inch or 1ยฝ in all the numbers to make space for weaving and sewing allowance. Draw line depicting the shape of a trouser before cutting, line will go with the measurement marking

You might ask why I use the back instead of the front? I turned it so nothing will stain the front including the chalk marking, also some material can change color due to much heat from the iron. To avoid this set the iron at a moderate heat level and don't place too long in a particular spot to avoid changing color or burning.

After cutting out the front you place it on the material to cut the back side, when cutting the back you'll add atleast 1ยฝ or more to the initial measurement

Then gum the waist band and the back pocket with a paper gum, cut out a pieces to form the patch pocket, it's in a rectangular shape, cut out the cover pocket with the paper gum and give it your desired shape, in the picture you'll see how I curved my own. When sowing you'll follow the shape in that gum to show a neat work but don't run trade on the gum. Make sure you sew with a matching colour

Note: there are different types of pocket, patch and inner pocket with different patterns and designs. We'll talk more about that in the future

After making fixing the pocket, it's required that you weave your work to make it neat during sewing but in the absence of weaving machine you can still couple it and weave later.

When placing the zip, you'll have to place it on the flap first

Then place the trouser on it.

๐‘ฑ๐’๐’Š๐’๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ
After sewing you'll join the remaining flap on the left side and sew, then join the two front and then place the back and join all together then lastly is putting the waist band that I gummed with a paper gum to make to make my waist is neat, since the trouser has no belt holder I put rope, yes that's the concept to bring out the design here is the final result

I like women with crafy skills @brittandjosie they always do great and barely lack, so accommodating to their kids and don't hesitate to impact the knowledge in them. Keep it up, I hope you can sew with machine?

Very nice job! My grandmother used to make clothing for my Mom back in the 70's. This is a wonderful post and look forward to seeing your next creations.

Wow. It is hard to find someone young in this skill. Readymade clothes really hit the tailoring hard.
