I am looking on the website of this concentration camp that I have visited a couple of weeks ago. I was trying to get some information about what I have seen there! I did the audio tour but there was so much information that I didn't remember it all! And I was focused on taking pictures so the info didn't come to me! But I can tel you this, I am crying now...!
1051 children
This monument is called the monument of the lost children!
There are 1051 names on the columns of this monument! 1051 children, all up to 16 years of age, including 242 toddlers and 55 babies. Together with their parents, they were transported to Sobibór extermination camp in occupied Poland, where they arrived on June 11 and were gassed almost immediately after arrival...
In total 3040 people were transported that day!
This is holding cell number 115!
It's part of a stories that is called the bunker drama! It is a long story but it gives you such a good view of how the occupation and the life during the war was!
You can read it here on the website of the museum! It's in dutch but if you translate it on that website, it is very good readable in English! Go read it!
This is the modern part of the museum! you can see many pictures and read many stories of survives! There is also big room with names on the wall! Names of people who were imprisoned there! You can sit there to remember in a moment of silence!
In the forest next to the camp was an execution place! 329 men were executed there! This is part of the old monument! As you can see the black dots, the monument was vandalized! Why they did that and who did it is never discovered!
barrack 1b
This is the only original barrack of the camp and it is still in use! It is completely restored!
There is a permanent exhibition in here!
On the right, the wall of the extra heavy secured prison of Vught! The biggest and baddest criminals are put away here!
If you go to the museum, you pass by the entrance!
ahh i see you went to kamp Vught , been there some years ago with my daughter and wife , we also visited Kamp Westerbork in those days ,you would think that people would have learned something from it but instead it is still hapening the hate for people being different.
But in the end, we are all the same! We are an human!
Que horrible y lamentablemente esa historia de los niños, los alemanes eran muy malos
