[Spa-Eng] ¡Saludos, HIVE! Soy Grisel, y esta es mi presentación en HIVE/ Hi, HIVE! I’m Grisel, and this is my presentation.

Hay una frase que dicen en mi país “es bueno empezar por el comienzo”, y aunque sea obvio en algún contexto, cuando tienes muchas ideas para contar y no sabes cómo ordenarlas, ayuda mucho recordar esta frase.

There is a phrase that in my country they say “It's good to start at the beginning”, and although it's obvious in some context, when you have many ideas to tell and you don't know how to order them, it helps a lot to remember this.

Mi nombre es Grisel Higuera, tengo 23 años cumplidos hace poco en abril, y siento que no hay mes más bonito. Al sur de Venezuela se encuentra la ciudad donde nací, en el Oriente del país, en un pueblo llamado El Tigre. Pertenezco a una familia muy grande, unida como se unen las personas que se aman; con fuerza, lealtad y en todo momento.

My name is Grisel Higuera, I’m 23 years old in April, and I feel that there isn't more beautiful month. To the south of Venezuela is the city where I was born, in the East of the country, in a town called El Tigre. I belong to a very large family, united like people who love each other; with strength, loyalty and at all times.

Me encanta escribir, desde pequeña empecé a plasmar en letras historias que creaba en mi mente y cuando tomaba el lápiz y una hoja todo iba tomando sentido. Fue así como en la escuela gané un concurso de escribir cuentos. Hoy, a once años de esto, aún me hace feliz.

I love writing, since I was little I began to write stories that I created in my mind and when I took the pencil and a sheet everything began to make sense. That's how I won a story writing contest at school. Today, eleven years after this, it still makes me happy.

En el año 2014 me motivé a hacer algo con lo que escribía, y fue así como creé un blog en internet. No me acostumbraba a la idea de que otras personas leyeran lo que escribía, me causaba pena e inseguridad, por eso lo terminé dejando. Ahora aquí en HIVE, lo retomo, más madura, segura de mi misma y con ganas de compartir con otros. No hay que ocultar lo que hacemos, y menos si eso nos hace feliz.

In 2014 I was motivated to do something with what I wrote, and that's how I created a blog on the internet. I wasn’t used to the idea that other people read what I wrote, it caused me pain and insecurity, so I ended up leaving it. Now here at HIVE, I return to it, more mature, self-confident and eager to share with others. We must not hide what we do, and even less if that makes us happy.

La paciencia no es mi virtud, pero continuamente la estoy desarrollando. Uno de mis pasatiempos, aparte de escribir, es la lectura. Cada año intento seguir los retos de lectura de diferentes libros cada mes, que espero compartirles más adelante. Leer para mí, es la comida del alma. También disfruto hacer figuras de animales con papel, a esta práctica se le conoce como origami. Me gustaría mostrarles tutoriales más adelante, lo considero anti-estrés.

Patience isn’t my virtue, but I’m continually developing it. One of my hobbies, apart from writing, is reading. Every year I try to follow the challenges of reading different books each month, which I hope to share with you later. Reading to me is soul food. I also enjoy making animal figures out of paper, this practice is known as origami. I'd like to show you tutorials later, I consider it anti-stress.

Con la llegada de la pandemia y la inspiración de mi mamá que ha sido repostera por años, he profundizado en el área de la cocina, específicamente los postres, y el resultado ha sido increíble, creo que todos podemos hacer lo que sea si empezamos. Pues lo más difícil de empezar, es dar el primer paso.

With the arrival of the pandemic and the inspiration of my mother who has been a pastry chef for years, I have delved into the kitchen area, specifically desserts, and the result has been incredible. I think we can all do anything if we start. The hardest thing to start is to take the first step.

Una de mis metas aquí en HIVE es encontrar personas para compartir historias, pues somos una serie de hechos y consecuencias que se han sumado para dar como resultado lo que somos ahora mismo. Creo fervientemente que todos tenemos algo para decir y algo que leer, y que podemos ser fuente de aprendizaje para otros.

One of my goals here at HIVE is to find people to share stories, because we are a series of facts and consequences that have added to give as a result what we are right now. I fervently believe that we all have something to say and something to read, and that we can be a source of learning for others.
