[Eng-Esp] Puppet Making//Fabricación de Títeres

Greetings my friends from Ecency!

I want to share with all of you a work done by my sister who works as a primary school teacher. Next April 23 is Book Day in Venezuela and on the occasion of this celebration my sister took the initiative to do crafts to make 3 puppets to carry out an activity on the school stage to recreate all the children of the institution. The titles have the Figure of a rabbit and I had the pleasure of being part of this project collaborating with materials for its construction.

The materials used were the following:
-White glue

• White recycling sheets
• scissor
• silicone
• paperboard
• Toad Eye Seeds
• nylon
• brown cardstock
• color pencil

Quiero compartir con todos ustedes un trabajo realizado por mi hermana que se desempeña como maestra de primaria. El próximo 23 de abril es el Día del Libro en Venezuela y con motivo de esta celebración mi hermana tomó la iniciativa de hacer manualidades para hacer 3 títeres para realizar una actividad en el escenario del colegio para recrear a todos los niños de la institución. Los títulos tienen la Figura de un conejo y tuve el gusto de ser parte de este proyecto colaborando con materiales para su construcción.

Los materiales utilizados fueron los siguientes:
-Pegamento blanco

• Hojas blancas de reciclaje
• tijera
• silicona
• cartón
• Semillas de ojo de sapo
• nailon
• cartulina marrón
• lápiz de color

The procedure was as follows:

1. We fill a tray with water.
2. We cut the white Recyclable Sheets into small pieces to moisten it in water.
3. We take the strips out of the water, squeeze them and then add white glue to knead until we have a homogeneous mixture.
4. We take a good portion of this mixture starting to shape it into a hare's head, leaving a hole underneath to embed its neck
5. Once we have prepared the mixture, we take a piece of brown cardboard in the shape of a neck where we are going to add the dough to give it the shape of a hare's head.
6. Once the hare's head is ready below the neck, there should be a slit where we are going to insert the index finger to give it movement for its function.
7. After having made the head we take two papers with the figure of an ear and a tooth to embed it in the head
8. We take two frog's eye seeds and embed them in the head that will act as eyes.
   For the presentation of these puppets at the School we must have several assembled cardboard boxes that will serve as a stage for the puppets.

El procedimiento fue el siguiente:

1. Llenamos una bandeja con agua.
2. Cortamos las Hojas Reciclables blancas en trocitos pequeños para humedecerla en agua.
3. Sacamos las tiras del agua, las estrujamos y luego añadimos cola blanca para amasar hasta tener una mezcla homogénea.
4. Tomamos una buena porción de esta mezcla comenzando a darle forma de cabeza de liebre, dejando un hueco debajo para incrustar su cuello
5. Una vez que hemos preparado la mezcla, cogemos un trozo de cartulina marrón con forma de cuello donde vamos a añadir la masa para darle forma de cabeza de liebre.
6. Ya Lista la cabeza de la liebre por debajo del cuello, debe quedar una hendidura donde vamos a introducir el dedo índice para darle movimiento para su función.
7. Después de haber hecho la cabeza tomamos dos papeles con la figura de una oreja y un diente para incrustarlo en la cabeza
8. Tomamos dos semillas de ojo de sapo y las incrustamos en la cabeza que actuará como ojos.
   Para la presentación de estos títeres en la Escuela deberemos disponer de varias cajas de cartón montadas que servirán de escenario para los títeres.
