This morning I took it to my brother who is a Systems Engineer and knows much more about this than I do, the response was like a doctor when a patient dies "I tried to do everything to revive him, but, he left", at that moment the truth is that I cried, and a lot, my computer for almost 3 years is my only source of income to support my son and help in my house with my parents' food, for a moment I asked myself What can I do? a computer that covers my needs is really expensive for the money I have available, my father immediately told me that I can work on his, however, and although his computer is where I write from, it is not what I want, because he monitors his business from here and from time to time he also works from his computer.
The truth is that even though I felt that I had no other options, my brother told me "If you do a Power Down," my immediate response was "No, you can't do that!" I could only imagine that all the work I had done to have that stake there and that in the future I would be able to help the little ones in the same way that they have helped me, caused me an immediate denial, without thinking that this was really my only option at the moment.
How can I keep creating content and generating rewards to fatten up my Hive Power if I don't have a computer to write from, research, and share with you? So after meditating, crying, breathing deeply and thinking cold, I have decided to activate my Power Down for 1000 Hive, which will go straight to savings until I manage to complete what I need to buy the equipment, which I hope will be soon, and I don't need to use the total amount. On the other hand, by continuing to create content on an ongoing basis the rewards should help me not have my current voting power affected, or so I hope.
It really has been one of the hardest decisions of my life, although many may see it as foolish, almost as hard as it was to stop traveling to settle down in one place, that was a hard decision. At the moment I have a commitment to the platform and to some newcomers, which is to create content that will help them find a good direction with their blogs and try not to get discouraged and continue to create good content to add more value to our beautiful ecosystem.

Desde que comencé a escribir por este medio y a generar recompensas viendo que mi stake iba creciendo y con ello mi poder de voto, dije que no tocaría mi Hive Power, para mí eso es algo sagrado, lamentablemente hoy en lugar de hacer un Power Up, tengo que hacer un Power Down, la verdad es que casi lloro al tomar la decisión, pues si bien mis condiciones económicas no me ayudan para poder invertir, cosa que es lo que quisiera hacer, ya que creo que esta es una de las cosas que ayudan a que la economía dentro de la blockchain se mantenga en crecimiento constante y sostenido, el día de ayer mi computador falleció, después de hacer mi última publicación y jugar un rato Splinterlands, se quedó colgada y al momento de reiniciar el equipo no quiso volver, todos mis intentos por revivirla fueron fallidos.
Esta mañana se la he llevado a mi hermano que es Ingeniero en Sistemas y conoce de esto mucho más que yo, la respuesta fue como la de un médico cuando muere un paciente "Intente hacer todo para revivirlo, pero, se nos fue", en ese momento la verdad es que llore, y mucho, mi computador desde hace casi 3 años es mi única fuente de ingresos económicos para mantener a mi hijo y ayudar en mi casa con la alimentación de mis padres, por un momento me pregunte ¿Qué puedo hacer?, un computador que cubra mis necesidades es realmente costoso para el dinero que tengo disponible, mi padre de inmediato me dijo que puedo trabajar en la de él, sin embargo, y aunque de su computador es de donde escribo, no es lo que deseo, pues el monitorea su negocio desde aquí y de vez en cuando también trabaja desde su computador.
La verdad y aunque de momento sentí que no tenía más opciones, mi hermano me dijo ¡Y si haces un Power Down!, mi respuesta inmediata fue - ¡NO!, ¡Eso no se toca!, nada mas de imaginar que todo lo que he trabajado por tener ese stake allí y que en un futuro pueda ayudar a los más pequeños de la misma manera que me han ayudado a mí, me causaba una negación inmediata, sin pensar en que realmente esa, de momento era mi única opción.
¿Como puedo seguir creando contenido y generando recompensas para engordar mi Hive Power si no tengo un computador desde donde escribir, investigar y compartir con ustedes? Entonces después de meditar, llorar, respirar profundo y pensar en frio, he decidido activar mi Power Down por 1000 Hive, que irán directo a los ahorros hasta que logre completar lo que necesito para comprar el equipo, que espero sea pronto, y no necesite utilizar el total del monto. Por otro lado, al continuar creando contenido de manera constante las recompensas deberían ayudarme a que no se vea afectado mi poder de voto actual, o eso es lo que al menos espero.
Realmente ha sido una de las decisiones más difíciles de mi vida, aunque muchos tal vez lo vean como una tontería, casi tan difícil como lo fue dejar de viajar para establecerme en un solo lugar, esa sí que fue una decisión difícil. De momento tengo un compromiso con la plataforma y con algunos novatos, que es crear contenido que los ayude a encontrar un buen rumbo con sus blogs y a tratar de que no se desanimen y continúen creando buen contenido para añadirle más valor a nuestro hermoso ecosistema.

Pero bueno, piensa que gracias a ese stake que has ido creando poco a poco ahora te podrá ayudar a que continúes y más adelante lo recuperarás seguro. Te entiendo perfectamente porque sé que la vida puede dar muchos cambios, porque me ha pasado y lo he tenido que usar, pero también sé que cuando menos lo esperas todo cambia y se recupera, así que paciencia.
Por cierto, te recomiendo que hagas el power down de todo, no de solo mil, así tendrás la cantidad que necesitas más pronto. Eso sí, mantén un ojo en la cantidad y cuando ya tengas el total, si te pasas, lo pones en stake otra vez.

Gracias mi querida lady boss, eso es lo que he pensado que después de todo, así como ese stake me sirve para ayudar a otros (no ahora porque mi votito es pequeño) también va a servir para ayudarme a mí a poder seguir creando y contribuyendo para ayudar a los demás, y de esa manera voy reponiendo al mismo tiempo lo que sacare. Hola como estas, si es fuerte hacer power down porque uno tiene su aspiración de seguir aumentando su poder de voto y poder llegar a ser una ballena o delfin, yo en lo particular hice power down en Steemit porque tenía la necesidad de cubrir algunos gastos de mi hogar, por lo menos gracias a Dios tenías esa opción para poder resolver tu situación con tu computadora, posteriormente tu recuperaras pronto tu poder de voto. Te deseo éxito.
Lo importante es no perder las esperanzas y no dejar de trabajar por lo que se desea, de mi parte eso seguirá siendo, en espera de que no se note mucho el bajón jajaja, Gracias por tus buenos deseos, y que bueno que hayas logrado también solventar tu situación.

Es duro realmente pero creo que tomaste la decisión correcta y más aún, tu publicación para aclararlo hace confirmar lo responsable que eres y como esto es parte importante de tu vida. Para muchos puede ser tontería pero para los que sentimos esto como una parte esencial de nuestro ser y nuestro día a día, te entendemos a perfección. Era una decisión inevitable y muy responsable de tu parte pues, estas preservando obtener un instrumento de trabajo que te ayudará a recuperar todo ese HivePower que hoy sacrificas por necesidad imperativa.

Pues sí, es así, una solución, aunque si encuentro otra manera de solucionar y no tener que utilizar mis hive los devuelvo y anulo el PD.

if i understand correctly you just need the PC and you already have screen keyboard and mouse? depending what programs you use for "work" you might be cheaper to buy a raspberry pi? if for engineering you use programs like CAD then no i dont think you can use a raspberry pi. there are programs like CAD like freeCAD.... though i have no experience with it so i cannot tell... since you are engineer and all...

I personally use a 7 year old broken laptop as a screen hooked up to a raspberry pi 4. Raspberrypi4 is the newest model of raspberry pi. starter kits with the newest model can cost 100€ but older ones are cheaper. you might even get cheaper by buying the parts separately or alternatives that are cheaper, but only do that if you know which parts u need.
I found the raspberrypi 4 starter kit with 4gb RAM and slightly faster quad processors costs 109€ but i think i saved a couple of euros just by knowing which parts to buy separately....
but starter kits of raspberry pi 3 (slightly slower quad processor and only 1GB of RAM) can be only 67€. (i use my raspberrypi 3 as a server)

yes that should be even better to just replace the motherboard and processor or ur old computer! i guess u rely on such programs to run on windows so them raspberry pi would not be an option for u anyway.... for me windows is not an option ^_^
