[SPA – ING] EL VIAJE MAS LARGO DE MI VIDA | THE LONGEST JOURNEY OF MY LIFE

in GEMS4 years ago

Greetings my dear Hivers, in my previous post I mentioned an incredible journey, which today I come to tell you with all my love, get ready for the adventure! In the month of January 2020, I got between my eyebrows wanting to see my daughter, because I had several years without seeing her personally, although technology helps is not the same. I also wanted to share with a great friend and colleague who lives in the same country.
Due to the situation in Venezuela, I could not leave from the airport in Caracas, and I also did not have a visa to travel to my destination. So I decided to travel to Colombia to get a passport and start my journey. Everything worked out perfectly.

Everything was going wonderfully, I had planned my return, for March 14, 2020, I was having a spectacular time! You can see my happiness in the photos. Until one day, when I was chatting with my neighbors and they told me that Lucky was crying all the time (Lucky is my little dog that I introduced in a previous post), I left her in my sister's care. This made me very sad, and my daughter had to buy me an early ticket.

She got a flight to Bogota (Colombia), on Tuesday February 25, 2020, so at 2:00 pm I started my trip, I was happy to have shared with my daughter and my great friend, but at the same time worried about Lucky, thinking the worst, since my sister once went on a trip for 2 months and her cat died of sadness for the absence of her owner, well that I imagine.

I was planning to return from Bogotá to Cúcuta by plane, but it was impossible to get a ticket, so I decided to travel by land. That same day, Tuesday, I left at 5:00 pm, bound for Cúcuta (Colombia), it is approximately 17 hours away, imagine that! After 11 hours of travel we arrived at a place called Piedecuesta at approximately 6:00 am, I was surprised to find that two rivers and some creeks had overflowed due to the inclement rains of the previous night and early Wednesday morning. They were talking about missing people, dead people and stuck cars. Everything was a disaster! There was no way forward.

The track was completely closed. We were there for about 5 hours waiting for the clearing to continue the trip, without breakfast, because it was a very remote area, there were no restaurants and we had to ask people who live in the area to sell us some food. I was already getting desperate.

The bus driver tells us that a bridge had fallen down and that the only way to get out of there, was to return us again by the same route until we almost reached the starting point, to look for another route that would take us to our destination. So I'm going back to Bogota? Oh no, that's crazy!

To make a long story short, the journey that would last all night, and a little longer, turned into a 3-day journey. 3 DAYS! I arrived in Cúcuta EXHAUSTED with my feet super swollen, to rest one day and continue my journey to Caracas. Besides being the longest, it was the most stressful trip of my life! But there I was again on my way back, optimistic, taking pictures and enjoying the scenery. My mother says that in bad weather, good face ☺

Finally, thanks to GOD, I arrived on March 1st at my little house, in short, it was 5 days traveling to meet again with this beautiful being, who has touched the deepest part of my soul, and has given me the most tender and pure love. And I to her, of course! We were both super happy!

The most curious thing about all this is that, the following week here in America, the whole confinement by the COVID-19 began, and they closed borders. If I hadn't returned before the stipulated time, I wouldn't have been able to go home until today! Sometimes we don't understand the decisions at first, but if I hadn't, I wouldn't be accompanying my beautiful and faithful companion, and I would have been stuck in another country. Have you ever had a stressful or funny episode on a trip?

That was an amazing adventure you had on your trip. But as you say, if you had not gone then, you would not have been able to to later. And the floodng. I'm familiar with that, as I'm in the U.S., and it floods like crazy here on the Texas Gulf Coast.

So happy to hear your trip turned out alright, even if it took 3 days. Nice to meet you and engage with you. Hope to talk to you again soon. Take care, and stay safe.

Thank you for your comment, this is @justclickindiva how floods are frequent due to global warming. A hug.

Yes, it is @evelynda. The science tell us. This Hurricane Season as been extremely active, utilizing all the alphabet letters, and slipping into the Greek. Two hurricanes entered the Gulf of Mexico at the same time. It's unnerving. You can see what's happening all around us.

So nice to engage with you again, and thank you for deciding to Follow my journey on Hive. I appreciate it. Take care, have a good rest of your week, and stay safe.
