DIY| Cup to planter conversion/ Conversión de taza a macetero [En-Es]

Glass, clay, ceramic and porcelain objects are very susceptible to falls, discarding them after a break is the common denominator of the majority. However, we can put it to profitable use by recycling.

Los objetos de vidrio, arcilla, cerámica y porcelana son muy susceptibles a las caídas, desecharlos después de una ruptura es el común denominador de las mayorías. Sin embargo, podemos darle un uso provechoso reciclando.

Inadvertently, the handle of a clay cup broke when it fell to the floor, I decided to make a pot for a small cactus.

Por descuido el asa de una taza de arcilla se partió al caer al piso, decidí hacer una maceta para un cactus pequeño.

With a dremell I started by removing the remains of the handle and sanded the entire surface of the mug.

Con un dremell comencé quitando los restos del asa y lijé toda la superficie de la taza.

Later I marked lines around the cup to engrave some figures and drawings like those that some traditional flowerpots bring.

Posteriormente marqué rayas alrededor de la taza para grabar algunas figuras y dibujos como los que traen algunas macetas tradicionales.

The next step consisted of drilling some holes in the lower part so that the water comes out when watering the succulent.

El siguiente paso consistió en perforar unos orificios en la parte inferior para que el agual salga al regar la suculenta.

Finally I cleaned it with a clay cream and the result is totally different from the original design that came from the factory.

I hope you like the restoration and conversion of this mug to a pot for succulents and cacti.

Finalmente lo limpié con una crema para arcilla y el resultado es totalmente diferente al diseño original que trajo la taza de fábrica.
