Primero que nada, permítanme presentarme || First of all, let me introuce myself (ESP-ENG)

Prólogo || Prologue

Vivo en Caracas, una ciudad increíblemente compleja y frenética, a la cual amo a pesar de todo su caos y todas sus dificultades.

I live in Caracas, the frenetic and hard-living city that i love eventhough all its chaos and complicated situations.

El gris del concreto, el transporte público y el smog, son mis cotidianos, lo que vivo día a día. Es por ello que me gusta referirme a mi mismo como “El Citadino” pues creo que es la palabra que mejor me define, lo cual yo tomo con mucho orgullo y cariño.

The grey concrete buildings, the public transport and the smog are my daily views. That's why I'm ussually called "El Citadino" [wich means "the citizen"] because I think it is definitely a word that definds me,and I take it with pride and love.

Vivo con mi mamá y mi papá. A pesar de que ellos están divorciados, tienen una relación de amigos muy buena, y me han hecho quien hoy en día soy, lo cual genera una pregunta muy importante.

I live with mom and dad. They are divorced but they are really good friends, and they have raised me as the person that I am right now. It generates an important question.

¿Quién soy? || Who I am?

Me gustaría empezar diciendo que mi nombre es Miguel Osio, y soy un músico de 23 años, estudiante de canto y producción musical en la Universidad Nacional Experimental de las Artes en Venezuela.

First of all,I would like to say that my name is Miguel Osio, and I'm a 23 years old musician. I'm studying to be a singer and a music producer in the National-Experimental University of Arts, in Venezuela.

Mi primera experiencia en la música || My first experience in the music

Llevo desde mis 9 años cantando, cuando empecé en un coro infantil en mi colegio. Desde ese momento empecé a estudiar música. Me gusta considerarme un ecléctico en cuanto a música se refiere, aunque debo admitir mi afinidad por el rock y el jazz, siendo estos los géneros a los cuales más me dedico.

I've been singing since I was 9 years old. By that time, I started singing in a children's choir in my school. That was my very first time studying music,and it was also the begining of my music studies.I like to consider myself as an eclectic musician, but I must admit that rock and jazz are my predilectic music genres.

Mis primeros años de vida || My early childhoud

Nací en el seno de una familia un poco atípica, pues no crecí con un núcleo familiar convencional de mamá, papá y hermanos. Si bien crecí con mi hermana y mi mamá, fueron mi abuela y sus hermanos con quienes más conviví en mis primeros años, lo cual desde niño me hizo ver todo distinto, y me hizo apreciar cosas que los otros niños no valoran tanto, como el amor por el aprendizaje y la importancia del amor, de la familia,en especial el amor fraternal.

I was born in a "non-typical" family model (because of the divorce of my parents, my father wasn't close to me). In spite of I grew up with my sister and my mom, I was raised on my very early years by my grandma and her brothers, and that made me diferent from the other kids. By that time, they taught me to love the constantly learning, and how important is to love, specially my family, but specially my sister.

Mis mayores pasiones || My biggest passions

A pesar de ser un apasionado por la música, llegando a ser esta casi una adicción, también disfruto de todo tipo de artes, en especial la literatura.
Es por ello que me encanta leer, siendo mis autores favoritos: Franz Kafka, Morris West, Gabriel García Márquez y Carlos Ruíz Zafón. Todos ellos me han inspirado a escribir, lo cual hago constantemente, casi siempre de manera personal, para mi propio deleite y para las letras para mis canciones. Algún día me gustaría escribir una novela sobre la juventud de Caracas.

In spite of my music-passion (close to be an adiction) I also love every kind of art, specially the literature.
That´s why i love to read. Some of my favourites writers are: Franz Kafka, Morris West, Gabriel García Márquez and Carlos Ruíz Zafón. All of them inspired me to constantly write some poetry and some lyrics to my songs. One of my dreams, is to write a book about how is beeing a young person in Caracas.

Mis sueños || My dreams

Viajar por todo el mundo haciendo giras con mi música es mi mayor sueño, pues soy un vocalista con muchos proyectos (el más importante hasta ahora es una banda).
Describiría mi obra como una fusión entre blues, funk y rock alternativo, con letras que plasman mis vivencias, sentimientos, miedos, emociones y preocupaciones. Sin embargo, también disfruto géneros como: la salsa, el merengue, el soul, el gospel, el metal y el punk. Debido a ello, también colaboro con otras bandas locales, como cantante invitado.

My biggest dream is to travel around the world playing my own music, having my own tours, because as a singer I have a lot of proyects (my principal proyect by this moment is a rockband).
I would defind my material as a fusion wich includes blues, funk and alternative rock, and my lyrics talk about my life, my feelings, my fears, my emotions and my worries. Regardless, I also enjoy other genres as: salsa, merengue, soul, gospel, metal and punk. Because of that, I usually have featurings with other bands and artists.

Un giro inesperado en mi vida || A ploptwist in my life

Uno de los giros más impresionantes que dio mi vida, fue en 2008 cuando me fui a vivir a España junto con mi madre y su esposo. Fue la primera vez que salí del país, y también la primera vez que viví lejos de mi hermana, pues ella se quedó a terminar sus estudios en la universidad.
A pesar de ser algo repentino, viví cosas increíbles los casi cuatro años que estuve allá. Realmente es un país hermoso al cual me gustaría volver.

In 2008, my life changed a lot when I moved to Spain with my mom and her new husband. It was the first time ever that I leaft my country, and It was also the first time that I lived without my sister (she stayed in Venezuela at her last years in college concluding her career).
It was really unexpected, but I lived incredible moments in the almost four years that I lived there. It really is a beatiful country, and I would love to go back.

Una dificultad... || A hard situation...

Sufro de depresión desde los 13 años aproximadamente, lo cual me ha traído ciertas dificultades. En parte, mi amor por la música se debe a esto, pues me ha ayudado a sobrellevarla, y me ha convertido en alguien más bien alegre y optimista. Quiero ante todo, crear canciones que hagan comprender a quienes me escuchen que no están solos, que así no me conozcan cuentan conmigo como un amigo, como alguien que los entiende y los ama.

When I was 13, i was diagnosticated as "depressive", and it has been pretty rough in some ocations. I'm in a profound debt with the music, because it has made me stronger, and it allways helps me out to being possitive and happy. One of my biggest goals in my life is to create music that make people understand that they are not alone, that eventhough I don't know them and they don't know me, they count on me, and I understand them and love them.

Mi gran meta || My big goal

Mi meta en la vida es ser un músico exitoso, e influenciar de manera positiva a la sociedad, dando mi más puro amor a todas mis creaciones y promoviendo buenas iniciativas a todos aquellos que me escuchen, pues cabe destacar que amo todas aquellas propuestas que pueden ayudar a toda persona que lo necesite.

Mi life's big goal is being a succesful musician who influences the society in a possitive way, giving my most pure love to all of my creations, promoving good initiatives to the people who hears my music. I'm completely in love with all the activities wich helps humble cummunities.

Mi vida actual || My actual life

Actualmente trabajo como profesor de canto y guitarra, pues me encanta ayudar a personas que quieren iniciar en el mundo de la música, y motivarlos a siempre autosuperarse y reinventarse.

In this moment of my life, i work as a singing and guitar teacher. I love helping people to initiate in this beatiful art called music and improve them as human beens, motivate them to constantly grow and evolve.
