People are locked in the house and cannot go out, except for reasons of necessity such as work, health or to acquire basic necessities. A strange calm wanders the streets and squares of the city. Usually at this late afternoon hour the city lives and breathes and hundreds of rowdy kids are wandering around with their brand new smartphones!
How many times have I cursed that chaos, annoying confusion from a tourist city? Now this calm confuses me ... If I think I am tied to a pandemic it terrifies me. It is not easy to tell what you see and hear. These photos are beautiful but the lack of living beings worries me.
But on the other hand we have no choice. We must remain isolated for our own good and for those of those around us. There is a beautiful song by Simon & Garfunkel, The sound of silence which gives a good idea of what I feel regarding these images.
