My son registered me 4 years ago on Steem - now HIVE and it was a real life-changer for me. Sometimes I wonder what I ever did before my days of blogging.
Once you are hooked on HIVE you can truly not ever get bored. There is always something to do, someone to answer, something to show. There are just not enough hours in the day.
I've also made some incredible friends on the platform - lifelong friends. A couple of years ago I started @cookwithus with @offoodandart and @chefsteve. Together we had a cookery competition which was hugely successful. It was a lot of work, to be sure. Later through work commitments Steve left us and @offoodandart and myself continued for some time.
Sadly it all came to an end and I still miss the wonderful chefs and cooks that took part week by week.
One special friend, @lizelle was one of our first contestants and is still making the most delicious food and often still sends recipes.
She runs a Bed and Breakfast establishment in KZN in South Africa and for some years I ran an Airbnb so had something else in common with @lizelle.
Lizelle has started a new community called Silver Bloggers and I'm loving being there. Soon, I will make a whole new bunch of friends there.
Last summer I met a wonderful lady @olgavita and introduced her to HIVE. She started out saying that she was a schoolteacher and had nothing to write about. This is so hilarious because she has become an amazing blogger and many times I feel I need to learn from her and take a feather out of her book. Have a look at her wonderful posts and see how she also takes part in so many contests. Clearly her life has also been transformed by HIVE.

I have to start using this new account as very sadly it looks like my @pandamama account has been compromised. Still trying to keep it open but having to make sure that I can't be cleaned out.
So as time goes by, I will slowly move over to this new account.

What always will help you build your new hive account, and profile on here, is establishing relationships and the best way to build them is to comment on other people's posts, there are so many topics here, and there will always be one that is of interest to you but also be interested in them, by reading and upvoting. This will draw them to your own account aswell, where they will discover a little more about you and relationships take off from there, and comments and votes will be the next step. A problem I have is that I have a discord account with quite a few accounts in it - most of which I don't use due to time restrictions. When I click on a link - like the one for your discord, I come to a completely new discord and it tells me to verify and claim the account. I'm never able to do this because my email address is used in my other discord account.Thanks so much for this @brittandjosie. It seems I haven't completely lost my @pandamama account. I still have my posting key and my active key and it looks like my account is still intact even though I clicked on a scam post which was pointed out to me by @arcange
